What does ‘PLC’ mean?
A PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) is an industrial computer used
to monitor inputs, and depending upon their state make decisions based on
its program or logic, to control (turn on/off) its outputs to automate a
machine or a process.
Advantages of PLC control
Have interfacing for inputs and outputs already inside the controller.

Industrial Ethernet
Multi Point Interface (MPI)
The MPI uses the MPI interface of the PLCs central processor card for the
communication.
The Industrial Ethernet is used to transfer large amounts of data over long
distances between a large number of stations.
The Industrial Ethernet is the most powerful network available for the
industrial communication.
It can be configured and expanded easily without great effort.
Hardware Configuration
But Siemens & Allen Bradley (AB) PLCs are most famous PLCs using
worldwide.
When the PLC starts up, the CPU compares the preset configuration
created in STEP 7 with the actual configuration of the plant. Any errors are
therefore recognized immediately and reported.
