Example the telephonic talk is oral but not face to face

• In face to face communication there should be some (Partial / full) response or feedback. Since it is

TONE OF VOICE AND BODY LANGUAGE

• It’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it. When you speak, other people “read” your voice in
addition to listening to your words. Things they pay attention to include your timing and pace, how loud
you speak, your tone and inflection, and sounds that convey understanding, such as “ahh”. Think about
how your tone of voice can indicate anger, affection, or confidence.
• Body language is a type of nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors, as
opposed to words, are used to express or convey the information. Such behavior includes facial
expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movtouch and touch .
VERBAL COMMUNICATION
• Verbal communication is the use of sounds and words to express yourself, especially in
contrast to using gestures or mannerisms.
CHARACTERISTICS OF VERBAL
COMMUNICATION

There are several characteristics that are specific to verbal communication namely:
• The message being communicated is directly or indirectly related to an object.
• We use concepts to communicate messages.
• The content should be understood by both the sender and receiver.
• While communicating emotions and feelings, a sender's state of mind influences the content of
messages.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION
These include our body posture when speaking, eye contact, facial expressions, touch etc. Even little
children know that nodding the head means yes and shaking the head means no. Aside these and some very
common gestures, there is more to physical communication skills.
