Introduction
Meeting minutes are notes that are recorded during
a meeting. They highlight the key issues that are
discussed, motions proposed or voted on, and activities
to be undertaken. The minutes of a meeting are usually
taken by a designated member of the group. Meeting
minutes are the written or recorded documentation that
is used to inform attendees and non attendees of the
happenings during a meeting.

Collect Information from the leader of the meeting so that you cannot
scramble to understand what’s going on.

Check the Name of Attendees.


Ask leader to introduce you to the other members
of meeting.
Don’t try to record the notes in detail.
Focus on the main points discussed meetings
Note the task and decisions taken in the meeting.
If you are not clarify with the meeting task then
clarify it by your meeting leader.
After The Meeting
 Add your comments to the decisions taken in the
meetings.
 Add information to the task. When it is fresh in your
mind.
 Don’t note the main points in chronological order. It may
not work.
 Write in a same tense throughout.
 Avoid using people’s name because it is business
documents.
 Avoid inflammatory or personal observations.
 Don’t rewrite their intent or try to summarize them.

 Capture essential information, decisions and assigned
actions of a meetings
 You understand what have been discussed in the
meeting with clarification.
 Meeting minutes are not exact recording of everything
what have happened during a meeting session.
 You understand the topic for future meetings.
 You will better understand the etiquettes of the meeting.
