PANDEMIC Imported of corona virus
 refusal of Nigerians from infected
countries to get tested

 refusal to stay in self-isolation upon

arrival
 Nigerians living in denial
1 2 Non compliance of Nigerians to set
rules
Poor education of Nigerians in
small communities of the realism of
the virus
MYTHS and
CONSPIRACIES ABOUT
CORNONA VIRUS IN
NIGERIA
“Corona Virus
is a plot to
embezzle
money by the
NCDC and
Government
officials”
While the world is in a
hustle for tissue
papers, Nigerians are
more worried about not
dying of hunger
Immediately the index case
of corona virus was
confirmed, Nigerians in the
health dispensary business
hiked prices of hand
sanitizers, nose masks, and
even hand gloves. Making it
unavailable for the average
Nigerian who cannot eat a
balanced diet in a corona free
world
PANIC AND ANXIETY

virus caused more people to develop
insomnia, eating disorders and even anxiety
problems
Increased cases of domestic violence, robbery and rape have also been reported

HOSPITALS IN NIGERIA AND COVID-19
AWESOME
SLIDE
HOSPITALS IN COVID-19
The health care system in the country was faulty, with the advent of Covid this
loopholes became very obvious. The inability of the country to provide
amenities to support sick and infected citizens.

Lack of availability of PPEs, bed spaces to accommodate patients and

facilities to put patients on life support if needed.

States being unable to provide basic PPEs like nose masks and hand
sanitizers for health workers put health workers in the country at greater risk
of contracting the virus.

The unavailability also led health workers to reduce patient- doctor and
patient-nurse contact. Which has led to a rise in preventable deaths and
illnesses becoming more chronic.
Way forward

Improving testing capacity and testing centers

Increase public awareness and advocacy
Provide palliatives for the masses and support
businesses
Continuous IPC trainings and PPE procurement
Vaccination
Improve contact tracing
