The Resurrection

of the Body and


the Last Judgment
INTRODUCTION

Believe it or not, just like Jesus Christ, we experience


resurrection. But this ideology does not assure our being with
Christ in His paradise. We consider His Last Judgment to us.
Judgment that will base on everything we have done on earth
while we’re living.
This module will introduce to us the meaning of Christ’s
resurrection which will be the basis of our future resurrection.
Also, in this module, we are going to discuss the Last Judgment
that will take place in the Second Coming of Christ.
Content Standard
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the
resurrection of the body and the last judgment as
expressions of our faith where there will be a new
heaven and a new earth for the new
Performance Standard
The learner should be able to evaluate the
integrity of the human body by respecting and
caring for it as an acceptance of the
resurrection of the body.
Learning Competencies
At the end of the discussion, students will be
able to recognize the importance of the actions
we do as a preparation for the Last Judgment
as part of our faith in the life to come.
Christian Message
Doctrine: The doctrine on the resurrection of the body tells us that the dead will
rise again with the same bodies as they had on earth on the Last Day.

Moral: As God’s sons and daughters, we must strive to be holy as our heavenly
Father is holy.

Worship: By accepting or rejecting grace in this life, one already judges oneself.

I. Death as the Only Way to See God
When a person dies, the soul separates from the body. The body
decays while the soul goes to meet God. “A person who dies does
not travel to nowhere but rather goes home into the love of God,
who created him” (YouCat 155)
II. The Glorified Body of Christ
Jesus appeared to His disciples and showed them His hands and
feet to prove that He is not a ghost. He is risen with His body
still bearing the wounds inflicted by crucifixion. He is not a
ghost!

of them will rise again with their own bodies
which they now bear’, but Christ ‘will change
our lowly body to be like His glorious body,
into a spiritual body.

VI. The Inevitable Truth
What will occur? The last judgment will take place at the end of
the world when Christ comes again in glory to judge the living and
the dead. “The hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs
will hear His voice and will come out, those who have done good
deeds to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked
deeds to the resurrection of condemnation” (Jn 5:28-29)
VIII. When is the Last Day?
The Last Judgment will come when Christ returns in
glory. Only the Father knows the day and the hour.
Reflection
If the Last Day of the world will be announced,
what will be the last thing you would do? And
who are the persons you are with?
Application
In a short bond paper, Make a poster/slogan as an advocacy on the
promotion of human life in line with the Church's teachings. This may be
done depending on the students' chose topic such as awareness on gender
equality, anti-abortion, anti-death penalty, suicide prevention, and the
likes.

For it to fully become an advocacy, take a picture of it and let others see
your work by posting it in any social media platform.
