Strategic Partnership between Amul and IBM 2009
IBM developed full fledged system to crack every small detail of operation that was being carried
out in the supply chain of Amul.

“End to End Digitalization”

The system helped Amul to determine minor details such as :

• How many plants were operating at full capacity?

• How many trucks are engaged and in which area?
• When and how many trucks are at ideal capacity so that ideal trucks could be diverted to shift
the work load?
• This helped Amul because frozen food and ice cream plants were not operational and hence
resources of these plants : truck, labor, storage, were diverted and utilized in milk supply chain
management.

CONCLUSION •

Price of the dairy product has increased over a period of time.
Quantity demanded has also drastically increased.
• Total revenue = Price * Quantity demanded.
• Total revenue (Increases) and Price (Increases)
• Direct relationship between price and total revenue.
• This proves inelastic demand of milk as a necessity goods.
