THE FIRST PLANNED CITY OF INDIA

Jaipur was founded in 1727 by


Sawai Jai Singh. He decided to
move his capital to the
plains,to 11 Km south of
Amber.

ITS NAME ‘ THE PINK CITY’

In 1876, Jaipur was dressed in


pink to welcome, Prince Albert
and Queen Elizabeth II and
thus the name “Pink City”
stuck to it. Now the capital of
the desert state of Rajasthan,
it has the rightful blend of rich
heritage monuments, palaces
and lakes and gardens with
the modern buildings and
shopping arcades.
