Module 4: BOSCH I/O Module

TRUMPF
Intermediate Laser Maintenance II

03/28/23
Learning Objectives
Name the functions and characteristics of
hardware components.
Troubleshoot BOSCH I/O with:
 7-segment display on the RM2-DP12 card

 LEDs on the input and

output card
 Diagnostic menu on
840D controller
BOSCH I/O

Along with the change of TASC 3, TRUMPF now has

added the BOSCH I/O module to the system to
monitor the inputs and outputs for the laser control.
The BOSCH I/O has the function of recording
measuring signals and issuing control signals to the
various laser components, e.g., gas supply unit,
vacuum system, cooling unit, resonator, etc.
This BOSCH I/O module is essentially used to
replace the I/O boards that were in the TASC 200.

Functions

The BOSCH I/O module has the function of

recording measuring signals and issuing
control signals to the various laser
components:
 Gas supply unit
 Vacuum system
 Cooling system
 Resonator, etc.
Components

TASC 3 is made up of a sub-rack, a ProfiBus

connecting-module RM2-DP12, and several
digital input- and output boards.
The RM2-DP12 module is operated without
ventilation; the ambient temperature,
therefore, must not exceed 55°C.
Addressing

The DIP switches display the address of the

singular board binary-coded.
Binary-coded means that the address is
calculated as the sum of all switches,
whereby the 8 switches stand for the values
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128.
PM – Replace Boards

Defective input- or output- modules can be

replaced.
New modules inserted must be correctly
addressed.
Follow the procedures in the Student Guide,
practice replacing the following boards:
 RM2-DP12 Module
 I/O Boards
