INTRODUCTION
TO
NUTRITION
Achieving wellness that integrates body, mind,
and spirit should be the main goal in life. This
can be accomplished through lifestyle
changes such as focusing on healthy food
choices, not smoking, participating in regular
physical activity, and maintaining a healthy
weight. Expanding one’s mind through
continued education, in both nutrition and
other areas, and finding a source of inner
strength to deal with life changes will all
contribute to one’s sense of wellness.
Nutrition is a vital component to overall wellness
and health. Diet affects energy, wellbeing and
many disease states. There is a connection
between lifetime nutritional habits and the risks of
many chronic diseases such as cardio vascular
diseases, diabetes, and cancer. A well-balanced
diet can prevent such conditions and improve
energy levels and overall health and wellness.
The basis of nutrition is FOOD.
