CHALLENGES AND SUCCESSES HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED IN THE

WOMEN’S RIGHT AND GENDER EQUALITY IN OUR COUNTRY
• RA 7192 and its IRR have a significant role in our country, this act was released on February 12, 1992.
There are several success or advantages ever since this act is approved, aside from the fact that this act
helps each women but also this act promotes gender equality. The focus of this Republic Act is to promote a
success equality for women where they are allowed to do things. Such as married women shall have rights
equal to those of married men in applying for passports, secure visas and other travel documents, without
need to secure the consent of their spouse. But regardless to any subject, the act also encountered
problems, the act itself encountered problems in sexual harassment and discrimation in women. Were their
agencies should have a stronger companion regarding to gender safe space.
• And one of the recommendations that can help the act to improve itself on promoting equality is to have a
strong consideration were women are driven to higher privileged such as rights to education and access of
health care in their household.
