Photoshop CS6
What is Photoshop CS6?
- An image editing software was developed and
manufactured by Adobe system Inc.
- The software allows the users to manipulate,
crop, size, and correct color digital photos.
- This software is particularly popular among
professional photographers.
Brief history
- Photoshop was developed in 1987 by two brothers,
Thomas and John Knoll, who sold the distribution
license to Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1988.
- March 21, 2012 adobe release of freely available beta
version of Adobe Photoshop CS6.
- The final version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 was
launched on a release event April 23, 2012 and first
shipped may 7, 2012
Starting Adobe Photoshop CS6
- You can create original artwork in Photoshop, and you can
import image into the program from many source.

● Artwork create in drawing program.

- You can customize the layout and


functionality of photoshop workspace
by using the workspace switcher

and modify your work. An

Opening a file in
Photoshop
To open a File:

1. Choose File - open


navigate to the location
of your image
2. Select your file and
click open.
3. To close the image file,
choose file - close or
click the close button
on the title bar
Creating a Photoshop Document

- You can create a new Photoshop Document and define a document


size, resolution, color mode and background content.

To create a new Photoshop Document.

1. Select File New - the new Dialog Box Appears, with option for
your file.
2. Type a filename and Values for the
width and height of the canvas.
3. Type the Value of Resolution.
- For an image to be used on the web, 72
pixels/inch is suitable. For an image be printed,
used a higher resolution, from 300 to 1200
pixels/inch.
4. Choose a setting for color mode
- Color mode determines which color method
is used to display and print the image your
working on.
5. Choose a setting for Background Content
- You can choose to use a white, transparent, or
specific color background behind your image.
6. Click Ok.
7. To save a file For the first time, select file>
Save As From the main Menu

-Move Tool - use to select
and move objects on the
page (Press V)
- Marquee Tool - select an
object by drawing a
rectangular or an ellipse
around it (Press M)

B. Crop and Slice Tools
Crop Tool - Click the tool button, Then
Click and Drag the tool over the part of
the image that you want to keep resize the
selected are dragging the squares at the
side corners. Click the return / enter key
when your crop box is sized correctly
(Press C)
Slice Tool - click and drag to the area of
the image you want to cut into different
selection: generally used for the creation
of image for a web page design (Press C)

Color boxes tool - change the
foreground and background color
Navigator Panel
Panning or zooming an image in the
navigator panel is another quick way to
make large changes in the zoom level.

Color - display the current foreground


and background colors.
Swatches - you can choose the
foreground and background and add
customized color to the library
Styles - allows you to view select
and apply preset layer styles.
