E GROUP
TASK
• PGT consist of Four
obstacle in increasing
order of diffulty.
• Each obstacle have start
line and finish line
• Before the task starts GTO
briefs the group and takes
the group to each obstacle
and shows them the
structures.
Rules
1. Rule of rigidity
2. Rule of infinity
3. Colour Rule
4. Distance Rule
5. Group Rule
Method of solving/Bridging:
• When distance is less than 4 feet:
1. Jumping
2. Direct Plank reach
• When distance is between 4 and 7 feet:
CASE 1. Simple bridge/put plank between A & B.

CASE 2: When gap is more than the length of


plank :
Using the Plank, Rope or Balli to make a
Lever to reduce the Gap so that one can jump
across up to 4 feet.

Some
suggestions:
1) Try to be In center of group,
participate well but don’t indulge in
pushing each other.
2) Try to find solution ahead while
others are crossing.
3) Pay full attention what GTO is saying.
4) Be Slightly bold conveying your ideas.
5) Don’t shoot down ideas without
trying.
6) Don’t forget the load and the HM.
GROUP OBSTACLE RACE
• All the groups must compete in a race
through a series of six obstacles while
carrying a rolled-up stuffed tent which looks
sort of a snake and that’s why the name
Snake Race.
HALF
GROUP TASK
• The group is divided into
two smaller subgroups.
• Each subgroup is given an
obstacle akin to that in
PGT
• The group must cross the
obstacle in 15 minutes.
• Rules and helping material
for the obstacle is same.
Command task
• This task is done individually and consist of an obstacle akin to that of
HGT.
• This helping material and the rules generally remain the same as that
explained for PGT and HGT.
• When GTO calls you and shows you your task he will address you as
commander for this task.
• The commander(you) will select two member he wish to be his
subordinate from his group.
Types of command task

• Each SSB has many command task, you may


get any of 4 types:
1) Start Line- Finish Line types
2) Circular type 1 (starting from inside and
finishing out)
3) Circular type 2 (circular start line and
finish line)
4) Semi circular type
• Final Group Task (FGT) is the last task as the name
suggests in the GTO series but as important as the
first one.
Final Group • In this task, your complete group of 8-10 candidate
will perform together. The structure will be like
Task PGT.
• Difference between PGT and FGT is concerned, the
only difference is that FGT is small as compared to
PGT and hence less time is allocated to FGT.
