RYTHM
Hundred of years have passed, and art has gone a long way. We can say that the
art we are experiencing nowadays is so different from the art where artists perfected
their craft the traditional way-practicing “mimesis” or imitating the model exactly as it
is. After World war II, emerged the newest form of art called contemporary art.

Performance Task 1:
Self- Integration
The students will be tasked to create a diagram that will represent their strengths and
weaknesses when it comes to creating arts.
1. Draw a human figure. Make sure that the figure is facing you with hands and feet spread slightly across the
page. Think of Leonardo da Vinci's The Vitruvian Man, and give the figure characteristics that are similar to your
own.
2. Create five big circles. Each one must be spread across the back of the head, the arms, and the legs. Think of
an image of a saint. You often see a halo spreading outwards at the back of the person's head. It must look like
that. Do the same for the left and right arms and legs. You may assign different colors for each circle.
3. With the circle/halo in the head, write one sentence that describes how art is important to you. Make sure to
follow the perimeter of the circle when writing. Do not go beyond.
4. In the circle at the figure's right hand, write the art form that you are most confident making or doing. This
should be the art form that makes you feel happy and enjoy doing.
5. In the circle at the figure's left hand, write the art form you know how to make/do, which most of your family and
friends think you do not practice. This is the art form that you learned along the way and enjoy privately.
6. In the circle at the figure's right leg, write the artform that you think will make
you succeed in your current track/studies. This is the artform that you need to
be able to succeed in education. It can be the same artform found in your
figure's arms, but you must do well.
7. In the circle at the figure's left leg, write the artform that you are least
confident with but must do to succeed in your work or study. This is the art
form that supplements your ability to succeed.
8. At the bottom of the figure, write down your thoughts about your self-
integration figure. Did it let you assess your capacities and points for
improvement? What will you do or want to try doing after assessing yourself?
9. Post your self-integration figure in your web portfolio and entitle it with "I am
Art."
