SCILAB
INTRODUCTION
⚬SCILAB is a freely distributed and open source scientific software package. A software open computing environment for Engineering and
Scientific Applications. The current version is 5.2.1 ( February ) .
⚬The Scilab language allows to dynamically compile and link other languages such as Fortran and C: thus way, external libraries can be used as
if they were a part of Scilab built-in features. Scilab also interfaces LabVIEW, a platform and development environment for a visual
programming languages from National Instruments.

TYPICAL USES
⚬Educational Institutes, Research centers and companies
⚬Math and computation and Algorithm development
⚬Scientific and Engineering Graphics, Exported to various formats so that can be included into documets

3.1 Problem-1
Write a Scilab simulation for motion of simple pendulum consider the motion of simple pendulum let θ( t )
be the angle made with the vertical at time t, initially θ(0)=π/4 and θ(0)=0
The subsequent position is described : θ(t)+{g/ l sin (θ(t))}=0, where g=9.8 m/sec square (acceleration due to
gravity), L=0.5m ( Length of the pendulum )

REPORT
SOLAR WIRELESS EV
CHARGING
SUBSTATION
On the base of car, the receiver unit is mounted and through
inductive coupling, power is transmitted from transmitter coil
to receiver coil. To suit battery specification, the power is then
rectified and regulated to battery specification. Through this the
charging of battery takes place.

According to WiTricity, a leading provider, their wireless EV

chargers achieve 90-93 percent efficiency. Wireless charging
for EVs can also deliver up to 20kW of charging power,
essentially a Level 2 charging speed, and there's no
technological limitation preventing higher speeds.
Objective 1
Proposed A solar charging station is meant so that vehicles is fully charged and
is environmentally safe.
OBJECTIVES
Objective 2
India broke into the top three largest car
This system frees an electric vehicle (EV) of the need for a cable when
markets in the world in 2022 and continues to
charging, further advancing the convenience of EVs for charging at
grow. With over 40 crore (400 million) people
home or work.
in need of transport solutions, the Government
of India (GoI) is pushing for the adoption of
electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce fuel
Objective 3
Reduce Air Pollution and health issues caused by it. Reduce dependence on
consumption and improve the environment.
petroleum. Reduced Noise Pollution. Electric Vehicles do not consume
energy when stationary.
TYPES OF
BATTERIES
Lead acid battery Nickel Metal Hydride Battery
01 A lead acid battery is a rechargeable battery
that uses lead and sulphuric acid to function.
02 NiMH cells are often used in digital cameras
The lead is submerged into the sulphuric acid and other high-drain devices, where over the
to allow a controlled chemical reaction. This duration of single-charge use they outperform
chemical reaction is what causes the battery primary (such as alkaline) batteries. NiMH
to produce electricity. cells are advantageous for high-current-drain
applications, largely due to their lower internal
resistance.
Lithium ion Battery
03 Lithium-ion is the most popular rechargeable
battery chemistry used today. Lithium-ion
batteries power the devices we use every day,
like our mobile phones and electric vehicles.
Lithium-ion batteries consist of single or
multiple lithium-ion cells.
PRO’S CON’S
⚬Wireless charging is simple to use ⚬High cost of installation
⚬No moving parts ⚬Weather dependent
⚬Low maintenance cost ⚬Energy storage is expensive
⚬Zero emissions ⚬Associated pollutions
⚬Free refueling
Market
TRENDS
Since 1991, prices have fallen by around 97%. Prices fall
by an average of 19% for every doubling of capacity.
Even more promising is that this rate of reduction does
not yet appear to be slowing down. To reduce emissions
the world needs to rapidly transition towards a low-
carbon energy system.
Transportation is a major concern in the development of any country. Whereas electric vehicle is the future of the
transportation industry. From our project, we conclude that a wireless charging system is implemented by our group.
Along with this, a battery management unit is designed, which shows the battery voltage. Battery voltage is
measured by the microcontroller & displayed on a 16x2 LCD. We have used inductive coupling technology for
wireless power transfer, but it is useful only for low power applications and where the distance between receiving
conclusion and transmitting coils is less. But for real-world applications, the power requirement is high and the distance
between receiving and transmitting coil should also be increased. So for this purpose, Magnetic Resonant Coupling
technology is appropriate and suitable. Also, we conclude that the wireless charging method requires more time to
charge a battery than the other types of charging methods. Our project only represents the prototype of Automation
in the wireless charging of electric vehicle system.
