It is the world’s largest and most widespread religion. Its adherents, known as Christians, are estimated to make up a majority of the population in 157 countries and territories. FOLLOWERS WORLD WIDE As of the year 2021, Christianity had approximately 2.38 billion adherents and is the largest religion by population respectively. According to a PEW estimation in 2020, Christians made up to 2.38 billion of the worldwide population of about 8 billion people. In 2023, it was reported: "There will be over 2.6 billion Christians worldwide by the middle of 2023 and around 3.3 billion by 2050, according to a report published in early January by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary." NAME OF DEITY: YAHWEH Yahweh, name for the God of the Israelites, representing the biblical pronunciation of “YHWH,” the Hebrew name revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus. The name YHWH, consisting of the sequence of consonants Yod, Heh, Waw, and Heh, is known as the tetragrammaton..The Yahweh Assemblies and other Sacred Name groups generally teach that Christ the Son was God's first and prime creation, and was used to create everything else. In Christianity, Jesus is the Son of God as written in the Bible's New Testament, and in mainstream Christian denominations he is God the Son, the second Person in the Trinity. Christians believe him to be the messiah (giving him the title Christ) prophesied in the Bible's Old Testament. JESUS FOUNDER: The founder of Christianity was Jesus Christ who lived about 2,000 years ago. The Bible, the holy book of the Christians, narrates the life and teachings of Jesus.
