INTRODUCTION
 It is important to check the quality of soil before you build your dream home. The ground
where you are planning to make your dream home it is important to check the soil quality of it
before your construction work begins.
 Soil testing is primarily done to test the bearing capacity. The chemical and physical
composition of the soil is checked during this process. The soil must have the ability to
withstand the weight of the building. Quality of soil not only determines the bearing capacity
but it ensures to determine the structure stabilization. Quality of Soil depends upon various
factors such as weather, climate change and for the past years the land was deployed for what
purpose and what was there previously.

Result : Since > 50% is retained on the 75 micron sieve it is classified as coarse grained
INDEX PROPERTIES
 Soil colour =red colour
 Grain shape=rounded
 Specific gravity=2.87
 Water content=7.15
 More than 50% is retained on 75micron sieve so , soil is classified as coarse garined
 More than 50% is passed through 4.75mm sieve s0, the soil is classified as SAND
 D10=0.42 D30=0.88 D60=2.6
 Results: Co-efficient of uniformity(Cu)=6.2
 Co-efficient of curvature(Cc)=4.79 Cu is greater than 6 so it is well
 graded sand and Cc is not in between 1and 3 so it is not well graded

finally it is not well graded sand

CONCLUSION
 The given soil is identified as sand by performing specific gravity, moisture content

and sieve analysis test

 Sand typically has a low bearing capacity compared to cohesive soils like clay or silt
 This means it may not adequately support the weight of the building, especially for multi story
structures
