Palace Theatre
The Palace Theatre is a West End theatre in the City of Westminster in London. Its red-brick facade
dominates the west side of Cambridge Circus. Richard D'Oyly Carte, producer of the Gilbert and
Sullivan operas, commissioned the theatre in the late 1880s. It was designed by Thomas Edward
Collcutt and intended to be a home of English grand opera. The theatre opened as the Royal English
Opera House in January 1891 with a lavish production of Arthur Sullivan's opera Ivanhoe.

The Royal Academy of Arts is an art institution based in Burlington House on Piccadilly in
London, England. Founded in 1768, it has a unique position as an independent, privately funded
institution led by eminent artists and architects. Its purpose is to promote the creation, enjoyment
and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions, education and debate.
National Gallery
The National Gallery is an art museum in Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, in Central
London, England. The National Gallery is an exempt charity, and a non-departmental public
body of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Its collection belongs to the government
on behalf of the British public, and entry to the main collection is free of charge.
British Library
The British Library is a research library that is the national library of the United Kingdom. It is
one of the largest libraries in the world. It is estimated to contain between 170 and 200 million
items from many countries. As a legal deposit library, the British Library receives copies of all
books produced in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including a significant proportion of
overseas titles distributed in the UK.
