KEY ACTIVITIES ACHIEVEMENTS


TAS 2020
• Activities pertaining to TAS targets are under progress according to the deadline. The remarks are provided against each target under the Updates
on TAS 2020 in this report.
• Applied research proposals are approved by the management.

TAS 2020 – ON GOING ACTIVITIES


• Developing criticality assessment matrix and carry out criticality assessment of all Plant’s assets in coordination with O&MD.
• Working on Implementation of data analytic through the use of appropriate software.
• Proposals on applied research works on relevant field was approved and works on the research are under progress.
• Insulation Diagnostic Test and maintaining data repository of instruments (CTs, PTs & CVTs-66kV & above) across all DGPC Plants are undergoing.
• Seeking budgetary offer for conducting geophysical test from firms in India is in progress (Head, HRDC to follow-up with the management for
Budget and further direction as per 2nd quarterly HRDC coordination meeting).
• Data collection of study on seepage control mechanism & applied research on relevant field are in progress.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
• Relevant officials of HRDC attended the monthly PRM with Director (Projects) held in conference hall, THP at Rinchentse on 7th May 2020.
• Conducted 2nd Quarterly HRDC Coordination Meeting on 29.05.2020.
• Board Directors visited HRDC facility on 16th May 2020. They were presented with HRDC brochures and were also briefed on the different testing
facilities and services provided by HRDC.
• Head CoEACaP attended condition assessment of CHP (Generator, Transformer & LPOF cables) meeting at CHP as a committee member.
• Mr. Rinchen Wangdi participated in the preliminary studies on Plant Digitization as a team member from 22 nd May-1st June 2020.
• Monthly data analysis and report generation for geotechnical instrumentation & monitoring for PHPA-II ( submitted on 14 th May 2020).
• Site visit to KHP to inspect the sites of crack repair works in Powerhouse & Dam( 15 th to 18th May 2020).
• Tender evaluation for the work “ Repair of Cracks in Powerhouse and Dam of KHP” ( 20 th to 22nd May 2020).
• Tender evaluation and report submission for the work “ Extension of HRDC Block at THP” (25 th to 28th May 2020).
• Data analysis and report generation of bathymetric survey for KHP dam reservoir (21 st May 2020).

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
• Head, CoECBM along with CTA officials attended Online Presentation of GE Make DGA and Transformer Monitoring Solutions via google meet on
22nd May 2020 with the Indian Firm.
• Ms. Tshering Yangzom & Mr. Rinchen Wangdi attended a webinar on Basics of Capacitance & Dissipation Factor (Tan Delta) testing by OMICRON on
8th May 2020.
• Ms. Tshering Yangzom attended Protection Testing with Test Universe-OCC, Quick CMC, Ramping and state sequencer webinar by OMICRON on
20th May 2020.
• HRDC officials who have already attended training on the 7 habits of highly effective people have attended an online training on ‘Getting Predictable
Results during Unpredictable Times’ by Mr. Narayan Pradhan, (Franklin Covey, Nepal & Bhutan) on 26th May 2020.

PROCUREMENT OF KEY EQUIPMENT


• Purchase of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU), SEL2240, AXION, with CT & PT Modules and Electrical Test Bench: Clarification on the detailed
specification that was sought by the firms were provided by the office and further process of procurement of these key equipment are being
initiated by MMD, Phuentsholing.
• Evaluation and verification of bids quoted by firms for the purchase of CoECGE Civil Equipment (Chipping/demolition hammers & drilling machines).

• Stack Emission Test of Diesel Generator Set at THP Dam, CHP Dam and BHP.
• Chain Pulley inspections of CHP Dam.
• Thermography Scanning of all the electro-mechanical equipment installed at CHP Dam and THP Power House.
• Ultrasonic Testing conducted on Stator Brazed Bars of Unit#1 at CHP.
• Ground Vibration data downloading at THyE.
• Ultrasonic Testing conducted on Governor OPU Pipelines at THP .
• Vibration Measurement of Generating Unit#II Upper stage at BHP.
• Acoustic leak detection on ABC cable using SDT 270 at Phobjikha , BPC.
• DGA for U # 1 & 2 (R, Y & B) phase of DHPCL and BPC, Phuentsholing.
• DGA and oil condition assessment for GT # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 MVA transformers & Spare transformer of KHP, 30MVA (1, 2 & ICT) U/Stage transformers,
15MVA (1 & 2) transformers and 5MVA DT transformer of BHP.
• Lubricating oil condition assessment for U # 1 (Gov. tank, UGB, LGB & TGB), U # 2 (Gov. tank, UGB, LGB & TGB), Desilter Inlet, Desilter Outlet, Intake
Gate and TRCM samples of DHPCL and U # 1 & 2 (Bearing oil) Upper Stage BHP.
• Suspended sediment concentration analysis of Intake Dam, THP for the month of April 2020, Intake Dam, TRT and Lubichhu of CHP for the month of
April 2020, THyE for the month of March and April 2020 and CHP Intake Dam during Cyclone Amphan.

• Conducted turret Measurement of Unit 1, B-phase (11kV/220V) CT of CHP.


• Insulation diagnostic testing for 11kV faulty power cable was conducted at THP Dam.
• Primary Injection Test of CT of 400kV THP-Malbase Feeder 3 and Energy metering testing was carried out at THP.
• Insulation diagnostic test, primary injection test along with Partial Discharge (PD) Measurement of 20 MVA transformer 1 was conducted at CHP.
• PD measurement of GTs of unit 2, 3 & 4 and Generator stators of the same units were carried out at CHP.
• PD testing on 50/63MVA transformer was conducted at BPC, Malbase Substation, Phuentsholing.
• Quarterly data analysis and report generation of Geotechnical Instrumentation & Monitoring of DGPC plants (submitted on 8 th May 2020).
• Monthly data analysis and report generation of Geotechnical Instrumentation & Monitoring of PHPA-II (submitted on 14 th May 2020).
• Data Analysis of Bathymetric survey conducted for KHP dam reservoir (submitted on 21 st May 2020).

FORTHCOMING MILESTONES
• Continue works on remaining 2020 TAS targets due for upcoming months.
• Continue to work on preparing of training modules and training presentation slides on following topics:
 HPP Protection System
 Excitation System
 SCADA
• Any other ad-hoc test requirement received from the plants.
• To carry out the calibration of electrical instruments, for the plants that are due for coming months.
• Execute and continue conducting electrical tests on CHP’s electrical assets, as a part of the CHP condition assessment task assigned to the
committee.
• Render the routine/ad-hoc test services requested by DGPC plants and external clients.
• Continue to work on “Study on seepage control mechanism for Dam and Intake Structures”.
• Continue to work on geophysical testing of dam structures in accordance to the directives from the management.
• Continue to work on applied research work on relevant fields.
