TODAY I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT JAPAN
Location of Japan • Japan is located in the region called Northeast Asia or East Asia, to the east of the Eurasian continent. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Japan, and the East China Sea. Population •The population: Japan has about 125 million people living there. •Japan’s most popular city is Tokyo and is also a capital of Japan. It has approximately 9.7 million inhabitants. •Tokyo was Japan’s most popular city. •Japan’s population is getting less because there is more people passing away then being born. Language spoken in Japan •99.2% of people in Japan speak Japanese as their first language. There are still a few less spoken languages in Japan including: Kikai, Miyako and other languages. People and the culture of Japan •We all know that Japan is a unique country and that not many places in the world can be compared with it. The culture, the history, the food, even the place can not be compared with it. Japan globally connected to Australia • Japan is globally connected to Australia in several ways. • Japan is one of Australia’s largest trading partners. Japan is second largest destination for Australian merchandises exports, with goods such as coal, natural gas. • Many Japanese students choose to study in Australia, attracted by the high-quality education system and the opportunity to learn English. • Australia is also popular destination for Japanese tourists, and vice versa. We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” •This Qur’anic verse highlights that people have been created from different nations and tribes so that they can interact and get to know one another, promoting acceptance of diversity. The most honourable among the people are the ones who are righteous and pious, regardless of any other characteristic. The culture of Asia • Family is highly valued in Asian cultures. Elders are respected, and family traditions are often passed down from generation to generation. • Religion, and spirituality play a significant role in Asian culture, with various belief systems such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism. • Asian cuisine is diverse and characterised by the use of herbs, spices, and sauces. Rice, noodles and dumplings are staple foods in many Asian countries. • Asia is rich in cultural festivals and celebrations. From the Sachiko Matsuri in Japan to Diwali in India, the cultural events offer glimpses into the history and traditions of Asia. Visiting Japan Why should people visit Japan? • If you like awesome landscapes, ranging from the iconic cherry blossom trees to majestic mountains, hot springs and natural parks, then visit Japan. • Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries globally, offering innovations such as high speed trains, robotic hotels and robotic shows. • Want to travel somewhere safe, then Japan is your destination, because it is considered one of the safest countries in the world, with low crime rates and exceptionally polite and welcoming people.
