Ayurveda
• Ayurveda is the
system of healing

naturapathy, with an
extensive use of
herbs.In Sanskrit,
ayurveda consist of
the words. Ayus- life
& Veda- related to
knowledge/ science
SIDDHA
Sidha system one of the oldest system of medicine in
india. The term “sidha” means achievement and
siddhars were saintly person who results in medicine.
Siddha treatment is based on Pancha Bhootha
Pancheekaranam.
1. The main aim of this system is prevention of
disease, as it is well said that “Prevention is better
than cure”!

2. The siddha system capable of treating all type of


disease other than the emergency cases.
3. In general this system is effective in treating all
type of skin problems particularly psoriasis , STD,
diseases of liver and gastrointestinal tract, general
debility postpartum anemia diarrhea and general
fever in adision of arthritis and allergic disorders.
UNANI AND TIBBI
unani means medicines which are a symbol of life. The name is
derived from the word 'Ionian' which originated in Greece.
'Tibb' means the knowledge of the states of the human body
in health and decline of health, or in other words, medicine.
tibb- E- unani is hence an age old,
time tested system of medicine
Dating back 5000 years to Greece .
HOMEOPATHY
Homeopathy, or homeopathic medicine, is
a holistic system of treatment that
originated in the late eighteenth century.
The name homeopathy is derived from
two Greek words that mean "like
disease." The system is based on the idea
that substances that produce symptoms
of sickness in healthy people will have a
curative effect when given in very dilute
quantities to sick people who exhibit
those same symptoms.
1. Homeopathic physicians seek to cure their patients
on the physical, mental and emotional levels, and
each treatment is tailored to a patient's individual
needs
2. Homeopathic treatment has been shown effective
in treating many conditions.
3. Homeopathy is a good treatment to explore for
acute and chronic illnesses, particularly if these are
found in the early stages and where there is not
severe damage. Homeopathy can be used to assist the
healing process after surgery or chemotherapy.
NATUROPATHY
The term "naturopathy" was created from "natura" (
Latin root for birth) and "pathos" (the Greek root
for suffering) to suggest "natural healing". Modern
naturopathy grew out of the
Natural Cure movement of Europe.

HERBAL MEDICINE
• Herbal medicine has
always attracted some

many well known drugs
are plant- derived, for

• Nutritional therapy is system of healing based on
the belief that food, as nature intended, provides
the medicine we need to obtain and maintain a
state of health, our food is our medicine and our
medicine is our food.
MIND BODY TECHNIQUES

• Mind-body techniques
strengthen the
communication between
your mind and your body.
CAM practitioners say these

harmony for you to stay
healthy. Examples of mind-

Meditation
• In meditation people

Relaxation

• Relaxation techniques are practices


specifically designed to relieve tension
and strain.
Guided imagery
• Guided imagery involves
the use of mental images
to promote relaxation and
wellness , reduce pain, or
facilitate healing of a
particular ailments, such
as cancer or psychological
trauma.
Hypnotherapy
• This is derived from western
practices. In hypnotherapy
(hypnosis), people are
guided into an advanced
state of relaxation and
heightened attention.
BIOFEEDBACK
• Biofeedback is a method of bringing
unconscious biologic processes under
conscious control.

TAI CHI AND QIGONG
• It has recently been
considered as an
alternative method for
lowering the blood
pressure. The potential
of tia chi therapy to
lower the high blood
pressure is growing, as
we are continuing to live
in high stress conditions.
CHIROPRACTICE
• In chiropractice, the relationship between the
structure of the supine and function of the
nervous system is thought to be the key in
maintaining or restoring health.
ENERGY THERAPIES
Massage therapy
• Body tissues are manipulated to promote
wellness and reduce pain and stress. The
therapeutic value of massage for many
musculoskeletal symptoms and stress is widely
accepted. It help relieve muscle soreness, pain
due to back injuries, and fibromyalgia and to
help relieve anxiety in cancer patients.
Acupuncture
• Is one of the most widely
accepted alternative
therapies in the western
world.
• Specific points on the body
are stimulated, usually by
inserting needles into the
skin and underlying tissues.
Reflexology
• A variant of massage therapy relies on manual
pressure applied to specific areas of the foot;
these areas are believed to correspond to
different organs or body system via meridians.
Hand mediated bio-field therapies
• Therapeutic touch is a mostly
secular variant of faith
healing; started by Dolores
Krieger in the early 1970. The
therapeutic touch practitioner
moves his hands over the
patient’s body, specifically the
affected area, without actually
touching the patient.
OTHER THERAPIES
Traditional Chinese medicine:-
• Originating>2000years ago ,traditional Chinese
medicine is based on the theory that disease results
from improper flow of life forcep(qi). Qi is restored
by balancing the opposing of yin and yang, which
manifest in the body as heat and cold, external and
internal and deficiency and access.
Curanderismo
• It is a cultural healing tradition found in Italian
American & among many Latinos in the united
states. Although it is a traditional healing
system, it utilizes western biomedical belief,
treatment & practices.
Aroma therapy
• Aroma therapy is based
on the healing power of
plant oils which may be
massaged into skin,
inhaled or used in the
bath, & it is said to
induce a feeling of well
being.
Spiritual therapy
• Spiritual level is a regimen designed to heal
ones spirit & psyche as well as the body.
Faith & prayer
• Faith is the confident belief or trust in the
truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or
thing.
Baha’I Faith
• In the baha’I faith is ultimately the acceptance
of the divine of the manifestation of god .In
the religious view, faith & knowledge are both
required for spiritual growth.
Prayer
• Prayer is the act of
addressing a god or
spirit for the purpose
of workshop or
petition.
Music therapy
• It is an interpersonal process in which a
trained music therapists uses music & all of its
facets physical ,emotional, mental, social,
asthetic & spiritual to help clients needs are
addressed through the relationship that
develop between the client & therapist.
Humor & laughter
• Laughing is found to lower blood pressure,
reduce stress harmones, increase muscle
flexion, & boost immune function by raising
levels of infection- fighting T-cell, disease-
fighting proteins called Gamma-interferon &
B-cells, which produce disease-destroying
antibodies.
Bioelectromagnetic therapy
• Bioelectormagnetic therapy is the application
of electromagnetic fields to treat & prevent
disease & promote health & longevity.
Electromagnetism is a powerful clinical tool,
simple to apply yet complex in its biological
effects.
Photo energy therapy
• Photo energy therapy devices emit near
infrared light (NIR therapy) typically at a
wavelength of 880nm. This wavelength is
believed to stimulate the release of nitric
oxide, an endothelium derived relaxing factor
into the blood stream, thus vasodilating the
capillaries & venuoles in the microcirculatory
system.
Detoxification therapy

• A lot of research is being done
in this field& new drugs for
treating more illness, are
being explore the side effects
& the resistance to allopathic,

concern, so people are
turning to alternative
approach in the future bright.
