    Do your research
    • Learn about the institution’s background, mission/agenda, values and goals
    • Review the scholarship requirements
    • Questions asked during the interview

    Ask for help/questions


    • Contact someone with first-hand experience
    • Join a community of the scholarship/PhD hunter
    • Compile questions
    • Experience of the interview: who are the interviewers, how many
    interviewers, how the interview is set up, how long the interview is, in what
    language, etc.
    HOW TO PREPARE?

    Practice, practice, and practice


     Formulate your answers in words
     Link the scholarship essay/SOP/ PhD motivation letter
    (if there is one)
     Practice saying the answers out loud
     Practice with someone
    HOW TO ANSWER THE
    QUESTIONS? Give direct and concise answers when possible
    Elaborate using the STAR method
    1. Situation: Detail the background. Provide a context.
    Where? When?
    2. Task: Describe the expectations. What needed to be done?
    Why?
    3. Action: Elaborate your specific action. What did you do?
    How? What tools did you use?
    4. Result: Explain the results: accomplishments, recognition,
    savings, etc. Quantify.
