Gastrointestinal illnesses
Most gastrointestinal illnesses are
related to food and water sanitation.

Contaminated water sources can


cause an entire community to be
afflicted with one or any of these
diseases.

DIARRHEA

Is a common gastrointestinal disease
who have poor personal health and
hygiene practices and living in unsanitary
conditions.
A person with diarrhea suffers from
loose bowel movement, which can make
the body lose lots of fluid and electrolytes.
Signs and symptoms: DIARRHE
• frequent loose bowel movement

• vomiting
• sunken eyeballs due to dehydration

A water-borne disease caused by

feces.
A person can develop the
symptoms 7 to 14 days after
infection.
Signs and symptoms: CHOLERA
• Painless watery stool
• Frequent vomiting
• Signs of rapid dehydration
• Sunken eyeballs
• Wrinkled skin
• Severe thirstiness
• Dry lips and tongue
