Wildlife
PPT by: Ansh, Narayan, Jayesh, Parth, Sai, Ronak
What are Shrubs?
 Shrubs refer to low-height plants with several branches. This type of
vegetation is found in dry and arid regions, especially in deserts.
 Deserts are characterized by scanty rainfall. Thus, these are highly
dry and barren regions.
 These regions mainly comprise stunted and thorny shrubs as
vegetation.
 Desert vegetation can be classified into: tropical desert vegetation
and temperate desert vegetation

Wildlife in deserts
 Deserts with extreme aridity are inhabited by unique desert-adapted
wildlife. This includes animals like camels, kangaroo rats, scorpions,
rattlesnakes, and certain bird species that have evolved specific
adaptations to get accustomed with high temperatures and scarce
water availability

Fact Corner

Many desert animals have evolved remarkable

ways to minimise water loss. For instance, the
kangaroo rat can survive without ever drinking
water, obtaining all the moisture it needs from
its food.ants find their way during an early
