Abstract
This paper aims to seek safer and better access through technology and
facilitates this by proposing an IoT-based smart locker system. It involves
technical measures that are meant to ensure the safe and easy use of facial
recognition unlocking by authorized users only. It further improves security by
having a notification function that lets the owner of the door know when others
have unlocked the doors. In case of unauthorized access attempts the name of an
attacker is registered and further investigation as well as preventive measures are
performed. Furthermore, an alarm has been raised up to make the responsible
authority or any competent persons to initiate action in cases of any suspected
activities The literature review and pilot study have shown the effectiveness of the
proposed IoT-based smart locker system in enhancing security in various areas,
such as in the workplace, public inclusion, and education environments Prospects
for future studies have been provided to enhance the application of the proposed
IoT-based smart locker system in modern security areas and capability building.
Introduction
• Cutting-edge Security: Our Smart Locker utilizes
owner permission for primary access, ensuring
authorized usage.

• Double Verification: A two-step verification adds an

extra layer of security, requiring a passcode and
sending an Authentication (open/close) to the owner.

• Instant Alerts: Unauthorized access triggers

immediate owner notifications, ensuring the highest
level of security.

Converter ESP (CAM) RELAY MODULE Wi-Fi MODULE

Working of Hardware
1.Automated Locker Unit
1. converter Module: The converter acts as a power management unit, distributing power to
various parts of the system such as the Arduino, GSM module, Wi-Fi module, and other
peripherals.
2. Control Unit: This controls the locking and unlocking mechanism, and interacts with the GSM
module.
3. Alert System: Sends alerts to the owner’s device or Text in case of unauthorized access.
2.User Interaction
1. Mobile App: Allows users to remotely manage and access the Automated locker.
2. User Interface: The physical interface on the locker itself for manual access control.
3.Database and Server
1. User Database: Stores user-profiles and access permissions in Mobile App.
2. Notification Server: Sends notifications to the owner.
4.Power Supply
1. Ensures the proper functioning of all components using a 12V power supply.
5.Internet Connectivity
1. Provides the means for remote access, notifications, and database synchronization for which we
use the GSM module.
6.Future Integration Points
1. This could include potential connections to other IoT devices, additional security features, or
other enhancements.
Future Scope of Project
1. Integration with IoT Devices: Explore the
integration of the smart locker with other IoT (Internet of
Things) devices to create a seamless, interconnected
smart environment.
2. Mobile App Compatibility: Develop a dedicated
mobile app for users to control the smart locker
remotely, enhancing accessibility and convenience.
3. Customization and Personalization: To customize
the Automated locker's settings, such as access
permissions, notifications, and access logs.
4. Environmental Sustainability: Consider energy-
efficient and eco-friendly design elements for the smart
locker system.
