    Francesc Pujols was a Catalan writer and philosopher born in 1882 in Barcelona. He wrote many books and developed his own philosophical system called "The Science of Everything". He traveled extensively, writing and developing his ideas. He spent time in exile during the Spanish Civil War but returned to Barcelona, where he died in 1962 in Martorell. Today there is a foundation dedicated to his work and a sculpture by Salvador Dali in his honor.

    Francesc Pujols i Morgades

    Francesc Pujols was a Catalan writter and philosoper. He was an important artist for our culture because he wrote a lot of books and he devoloped his own philosophic system: "The Science of Everything".

    What's about his life?


    He was born in Barcelona in 1882. He started writting poetry at the age of 16. At 1902, he participed in an important competition of poetry called "Jocs Florals" and he won the 1st prize with "Idilli".

    What's about his life?


    In the same year, he started to do reviews of art works. Pujols was a defender of Antoni Gaud, an important architect in his time, famous for his controverted works.

    What's about his life?


    In 1902 he travelled to Madrid to expand his knowledge. In 1908 he returned to Barcelona and he wrote some works of theatre. In the next 20 years he wrote a lot of books and articles for newspapers, and finally in 1926 he went to live in Martorell.

    What's about his life?

    In 1939, because of the Civil War, he went to exile in Montpeller. In 1942 he went back to Barcelona and he spent a month in jail. He went back to Martorell and finally died there in 1962.

    Francesc Pujols thought of a way to understand the world, and he formulated that way as a religion: The Catalan Scientist Religion.

    The Science of Everything says that ethics is conceived through knowledge, and ethics is more important than own knowledge.

    This type of ethic means a respect to all living things. This way of thinking follows an attitude of act for the benefit of nature, with a personal and social harmony and with a Nature equilibrium.

    Nowadays...

    There's a foundation dedicated to Francesc Pujols. There, we have a sculpture by Dal dedicated to him. And you can visit Pujols' house in Martorell called "The Tower of Hours".

    Jaume Muxart i Domnech is an important painting artist who was born in Martorell the 3rd of July of

    His life
    In 1945 he got the degree of painting teacher. After that, he started to travel around Europe, and later, around Asia too. His paintings were exposed in many countries like Italy, Sweden, Egypt or Lebanon. He is still alive.

    Awards
    He won in 1970 : Premi de la Diputaci de Barcelona a lExposici Nacional dArt . In 1971: Premi de Pintura Ciutat de Barcelona. In 1994, he got a showroom with his name at Martorell Cultural Centre.

    There is also a museum dedicated to Muxart in Martorell

    His painting style


    He started with very realistic paintings, but few years later he changed his style and painted some impressionist and later, abstract pictures.

    Jos Palet( Martorell 7.06.1877 Milan ,1.02.1946 ). He became the most famous opera singer in Martorell. He was known as Tenor Palet or Mestre Palet. He was an opera idol in Italy while he was active.

    He followed his singing studies in Barcelona. He made his debut at the Liceum Theatre in Barcelona in 1900, where he sang Donizettis "La Favorita". He had an extensive international career, especially in Italy, where he became very famous. He was a player of the Italian romantic repertoire, he also played in Spanish operas such as "Marina" or "La Dolores".
