Senior Aide Helper,
These people are relentlessly calling everyday from different numbers. Call begins with "this is (person's first name) from Senior Aide Helper, calling on a recorded line, can you hear me ok?" Then call is switched to a robocall type recorded message. My guess is that they are attempting to record your voice saying "yes" in answering their initial question to possibly use it for another purpose.
This call have came to my several times. I under you just applied online for security benefits. Which I did not!! I did not say a word this time. It was a recording anyways each time. Are still there. I hung up the phone. Beside social security will not call you. They will send you a letter. I never applied for benefits online and where else.
Person or recording says: "Hi this is Joe, I understand that you have applied for Social Security benefits... Followed quickly with the question of can you hear me? As soon as you say " yes" to being able to hear him, they hang up. If you call back all you hear is music playing.
They left a message on my phone " ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge, or a grand jury, or a federal criminal offense. My number is 3213281464, repeat, my number is 3213281464. I want you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you."
Calling saying that if you do not respond it will be a criminal federal offense. I asked for the person that called and they said he was busy, asked to speak to someone else and they responded are you Alex-------, No and hung up. I wish something could be done about these people. this is terrible, I was following up to see how far they were going to take this scam.
