Person texted me to request to add to Yahoo messenger.

This lady called and asked me if I could accept legal documents for Edward Gregory and then proceeded to tell me that he needed to call the legal department within two hours or they would serve papers on him at his home or workplace. There was something similar to this on television last week and this turned out to be a scam. They told him when he called the legal department that it was a credit card that he had back in 2004 and it had my name and my daughter's name on it and it had my daughter's current address on it and she has only been at this address for 6 months. Something is very suspicious about this and these people need to be stopped.

These are legit SCAMMERS...trying to get information through tactless deception, identifying themselves as some 'official' body. No reputable agency would call to say they have legal papers and they want to know if you would be home to be served. Completely laughable, they don't even know how to scam properly. Legal 'servers' are trying to catch the party to be served IN PERSON, if they call you first they would be warning you beforehand and what would be the point in that? Easy way for you to EXIT...oh yes, I'll be home please stop by and serve me now. Secondly, they state that they have filed papers with the sheriff's dept., another ill-technique not thoughtout too well, in my county THERE IS NO SHERIFF'S OFFICE, oops, better think of a different masterplan. Save yourself some aggravation and just hang up on them!
