Sir James Suttie of Balgone, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir James Suttie of Balgone, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 10 May 1692.1 He was the son of Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 1st Bt. and Marion Elizabeth Semple.2 He married Elizabeth Dalrymple, daughter of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton, on 12 January 1715.1 He died on 4 May 1736 at age 43.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Suttie, of Balgone [N.S., 1702].1

     Elizabeth Dalrymple was the daughter of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton.2 She married Sir James Suttie of Balgone, 2nd Bt., son of Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 1st Bt. and Marion Elizabeth Semple, on 12 January 1715.1 She died in March 1739.1

Lt.-Col. Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 3rd Bt.1

     Lt.-Col. Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 3rd Bt. was born on 12 October 1715.1 He was the son of Sir James Suttie of Balgone, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Dalrymple.2 He married Agnes Grant, daughter of William Grant, Lord Prestongrange and Grizel Millar, on 7 June 1757.2 He died on 26 November 1783 at age 68.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Suttie, of Balgone [N.S., 1702] on 4 May 1736.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Leighton's Foot.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington.1

     He lived at Knocknagarm, Ballysax, Curragh, County Kildare, Ireland.2

     Sir James Grant-Suttie of Balgone, 4th Bt. was born on 10 May 1759.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 3rd Bt. and Agnes Grant.2 He married Katherine Isabella Hamilton, daughter of J. Hamilton of Bangour, on 14 April 1792 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3 He died on 20 May 1836 at age 77.1,3
     He was given the name of James Suttie at birth.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Suttie, of Balgone [N.S., 1702] on 26 November 1783.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington.1 In 1818 his name was legally changed to James Grant-Suttie on inheriting the Prestongrange estate from his aunt Janet Grant, Countess of Hyndford.1

Sir George Suttie of Balgone, 3rd Bt. and Agnes Grant, on 14 April 1792 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3 She died on 27 June 1817.2,3
