The Secret Teachings of All Ages

Hall is, without doubt, one of the 20th century's greats. As well, he was also an extremely talented author, all of his writings that ive read thus far in my life are very accessible, very easy to comprehend, and all very well laid out and/or divided into parts relating to each other. This IS his masterwork, and I am giving this very book to some people who are important to me, so that they can be inspired and learn more about what life really is about. This expansive book covers a multitude of topics. Lover of, and student of history, this book puts what knowledge I learned from traditional schools up to college and illuminates it far beyond the texts and teachers of academia ever did for me, and so it will be for anyone intelligent and interested who is fortunate enough to ever read it. Who should read the book? Anyone intelligent enough to go through the schools of life and while there realizes that there is something missing and also that there is much, much more that is predominately untold, or even shunned by our systems of learning. I have found in life (aged 54 as of this review's writing) that roughly about 80~85% of EVERYTHING that is either taught to us as children by others, other than mom & dad, and everything ELSE that is also DRILLED into our heads, by society and science, is either half~truth(which means half~LiE) and/or limiting in scope and combine this with the strange, greed-driven desire to forever make all real higher education completely unavailable to all but the very wealthiest among us, (dont have space here to elaborate upon the bogus, also greed-driven and shameless hustle used by the government to railroad would-be students of higher degrees into lifelong debt, rather than give them the chance to earn those degrees, even at their insane cost) If education to the highest degree a student wanted to go for was free to any willing to try then the world might not need people like Hall to help show us all the ways we should be living, and books like this likely would become gospel to the masses. This stuff is meant to be SHARED take my word for it, you NEED this book, if youre reading down this far on the page! Buy it it WILL be the BEST $20-odd bucks youve spent this year so far! And you will be going back through it many many more times in the future. Kind of a Bible, but not religious, its better, it is truths and philosophy, things that arent widely taught because the weight of their truths were in fact a liability to their own existence in the world of man & his ignorance. They have been treasured, and protected, and passed on. I think all intelligent men & women should read this. I doubt many will dispute it either. Buy two and give one to somebody you know, who you think should know also. Enjoy

Was introduced to this book in 1964, and have had the book near my desk at home since that time. Manly Hall was a unique individual and his encyclopedic compilation of information in one volume is masterful. Recently purchased the paper back edition to allow notes to be placed in the margins. My original shall remain unmarked. Purchased copies for two of my students also, this precludes the refusal of their request to borrow my original. The paper backed edition has the marvelous art work of the original, and frankly the prints look even better than the first copy purchased. Try it you will like it!
