What's OPEN SOURCE FURNITURE?

Recently, Mozilla Japan’s new office's ground floor was designed by NOSIGNER. They designed all furnitures based on the idea of Open Source. They used general products and uploaded all drawings to the website. Therefore, these designs might also be able to call the “open source furniture" so to speak. Because these designs enable everyone to make functional office furnitures inexpensively.

Open Source Furnitureとは、Mozilla Japan の新オフィス内にあるMozilla Factory SpaceのためにNOSIGNERがデザインした家具です。ポリカーボネートパネルや物流パレット等、身近に購入出来る素材で作られています。図面も公開されているので、誰でも手軽に機能的なオフィスを作ることができます。

Open source furniture by Espace Loggia

The french company Espace Loggia got inspired and took over plans of "Open Source Furniture". They modified those plans and conferred right to use those for everyone. 

フランスの家具ブランドEspace LoggiaがOPEN SOURCE FURNITUREを元に作成した製品を発表しています。公式サイトでは、Espace Loggiaによって改変された図面も公開されています。

Planter / プランター ｜The Planter is build up from two plastic containers. The lower container, containing water, is automatically watering the upper one, that is holding the plant, through a piece of felt. ｜ プラスチックコンテナでつくるプランター。上段に植栽、下段に水を入れ、上下を繋ぐフェルトを通じて適時自動で水やりが行われます。

Plastic palette raised floor / プラスチックパレット ｜ OA floor consists of the plastic palette units covered with the wood panel. Cables to every direction are concealed in the units by passing through that. We can use it by taking cables from the inspection doors which are set on every unit. ｜ プラスチックの物流パレットでOAフロアを構築し内部にケーブルを通すことで、各所の点検口から取り出して使用可能です。

Polycarbonate panels enable to edit space / ポリカーボネートパネルのパーテション

Using polycarbonate panels, you can edit the space as your purpose when you use.

ポリカーボネートパネルを用いて、目的に応じた空間を容易に作るためのパーティションを作ることができます。

Sign / サイン ｜ The signature consists of dots, which is the reproduction of the feeling of a pixel of the screen. It is an ordinary letter when it is seen from a distance. But its shape turn into jagged from near by. ｜ サインはディスプレイ上のピクセル感を再現しており、遠くから見ると気付かないが近づいてみるとギザギザしている。

Corner module / コーナーモジュール ｜ Corner modules are made of single steel plate and you can make them by using our drawing. These modules make desk, shelf and lamp-shade. ｜ コーナーモジュールは一枚の鋼板からできており、図面を利用して作ることができます。これらのモジュールが机、照明、棚などの空間要素を構成しています。
