A letter from our director
Dear Friends,
We are in the final weeks of the semester, and the School of Visual & Performing Arts is in full swing fine-tuning our spring programming!
ArtsFest weekend, our marquee celebration of the arts, spotlights the incredible creative talents of UWL students. This annual celebration kicks off with an opening reception at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday April 24, leading into our kickoff concert titled “Happiness is…” featuring the Treble Chorus. Friday April 25 showcases the talents of 12 graduating art majors with their capstone exhibition entitled “Exit Strategies,” with reception and opening beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday April 26 is a double-header, with the Symphony Orchestra presenting “Khromorphia” at 2 p.m. in Annett Recital Hall and a 7:30 p.m. Jazz Concert in the Bluffs Ballroom. ArtsFest weekend concludes with the April 27 matinee of Kander and Ebb’s award-winning musical Cabaret at 2 p.m. in Toland Theatre. ArtsFest weekend events, with the exception of Cabaret, are free and open to the public. To reserve tickets for Cabaret, click here.
