2018 - 2023: Principal Researcher, Microsoft Research Redmond
- Led a team developing cutting-edge pre-training techniques for NLP and multimodal tasks;
- Led a team to integrate GPT-4 to Bing’s search services to provide the knowledge base for the New Bing; compressing GPT-4/ChatGPT to reduce the model size.
2015 - 2018: Research Staff Member, IBM T.J. Waterson Research Center
- Developed model compression techniques and applied them to image classification/object detection models in IBM Watson services;
- Led a team to develop deep generative models (GAN, VAE) based techniques, many of which have been productized to IBM products.
