    The Welsh Open is a 64 man tournament with matches being played as best-of-seven frames up to and including the fourth round. The quarter-finals will be best-of-nine frames, the semi-finals best-of-11 frames and the final will be best-of-17, played over two sessions.

    Among the names involved in the tournament this year will be seven time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan who returns to the table having withdrawn from the Masters last month due to medical reasons.

    He will be joined by defending Welsh Open champion Gary Wilson as well as Kyren Wilson, Mark Selby, Mark Williams, John Higgins and the winner of the first major tournament of 2025 Shaun Murphy who beat Kyren Wilson in the finals of last month's Masters.
