Title: Linear relations over commutative ringsComments: 20 pages, comments welcomeSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT)
We consider the category of linear relations over an arbitrary commutative ring, and identify it as a subcategory of the category of Kronecker representations. We observe that this subcategory forms a definable torsion-free class in a canonical torsion pair whose torsion class consists of representations supported only at the tail vertex. In the complete local case we also generalise results used in the functorial filtrations method, known before only in case the ground ring is a field. In particular, our results strictly generalise what is usually called the `splitting lemma' linear relations. Our generalisation of a `covering lemma' involves the notion of a linearly compact module in the sense introduced by Zelinski.

Title: Auslander-Reiten combinatorics and $q$-characters of representations of affine quantum groupsComments: 26 pages, 2 figures. Comments welcomeSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Combinatorics (math.CO); Rings and Algebras (math.RA)
For each simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ of simply-laced type, Hernandez and Leclerc introduced a certain category $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ of finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$, as well as certain subcategories $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}^{\leq \xi}$ depending on a choice of height function adapted to an orientation of the Dynkin graph of $\mathfrak{g}$. In our previous work we constructed an algebra homomorphism $\widetilde{D}_{\xi}$ whose domain contains the image of the Grothendieck ring of $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}^{\leq \xi}$ under the truncated $q$-character morphism $\widetilde{\chi}_q$ corresponding to $\xi$. We exhibited a close relationship between the composition of $\widetilde{D}_{\xi}$ with $\widetilde{\chi}_q$ and the morphism $\overline{D}$ recently introduced by Baumann, Kamnitzer and Knutson in their study of the equivariant homology of Mirković-Vilonen cycles. In this paper, we extend $\widetilde{D}_{\xi}$ in order to investigate its composition with Frenkel-Reshetikhin's original $q$-character morphism. Our main result consists in proving that the $q$-characters of all standard modules in $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ lie in the kernel of $\widetilde{D}_{\xi}$. This provides a large family of new non-trivial rational identities suggesting possible geometric interpretations.

Title: A remark on the Langlands correspondence for toriComments: 25 pagesSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Number Theory (math.NT)
For an algebraic torus defined over a local (or global) field $F$, a celebrated result of R.P. Langlands establishes a natural homomorphism from the group of continuous cohomology classes of the Weil group, valued in the dual torus, onto the space of complex characters of the rational points of the torus (or automorphic characters in the global case). We slightly extend this result by showing that, if we topologize the relevant spaces of continuous homomorphisms and continuous cochains with the compact-open topology, then Langlands's homomorphism is continuous and open. Moreover, we demonstrate that, in both the local and global settings, the subset of unramified characters corresponds to the identity component of the relevant space of characters when viewed in this topological framework. Finally, we compare the group of unramified characters and the Galois (co)invariants of the dual torus.

Title: Factorial Fock free fermionsComments: 56 pages, 2 tablesSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Mathematical Physics (math-ph); Combinatorics (math.CO)
We use a double shifted power analog of free fermion fields to introduce current operators, Hamiltonians, and vertex operators which are deformed by two families of parameters and satisfy analogous formulas to the classical case. We show that the deformed half vertex operators correspond to the row transfer matrices of a solvable six vertex model recently given by Naprienko [arXiv:2301.12110], which under a specialization yields the factorial Schur functions (up to a reindexing of parameters). As a consequence, we show that under the boson-fermion correspondence using our deformed half vertex operators, the natural basis (under this specialization) maps to the factorial Schur functions. Furthermore, the image of the natural basis vectors are tau function solutions to the 2D Toda lattice.

Title: Representations of non-finitely graded Heisenberg-Virasoro type Lie algebrasComments: 19 pagesSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT)
We construct and study non-finitely graded Lie algebras $\mathcal{HV}(a,b;\epsilon)$ related to Heisenberg-Virasoro type Lie algebras, where $a,b$ are complex numbers, and $\epsilon = \pm 1$. Using combinatorial techniques, we completely classify the free $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak h)$-modules of rank one over $\mathcal{HV}(a,b;\epsilon)$. It turns out that these modules are more varied and complex than those over non-finitely graded Virasoro algebras, and in particular admit infinitely many free parameters if $b=1$ and $\epsilon=-1$. Meanwhile, we also determine the simplicity and isomorphism classes of these modules.

Title: On the action of the symmetric group on the free LAnKe IISubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Combinatorics (math.CO)
A LAnKe (also known as a Lie algebra of the $n$th kind, or a Filippov algebra) is a vector space equipped with a skew-symmetric $n$-linear form that satisfies the generalized Jacobi identity. The symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_m$ acts on the multilinear part of the free LAnKe on $m=(n-1)k+1$ generators, where $k$ is the number of brackets. The corresponding representation was studied by Friedmann, Hanlon, Stanley and Wachs, who asked whether for $n \ge k$, its irreducible decomposition contains no summand whose Young diagram has at most $k-1$ columns. It is known that the answer is affirmative if $k \le 3$. In this paper, we show that the answer is affirmative for all $k$.

Title: Frobenius-Perron dimensions of conjugacy classes in fusion categoriesComments: 20 ppSubjects: Quantum Algebra (math.QA); Category Theory (math.CT); Representation Theory (math.RT)
The question of how certain arithmetical conditions on the sizes of conjugacy classes of a finite group influence the group structure was extensively studied in the last decade. In this paper we study some analogue of these properties for fusion categories.

Title: The Segal-Neretin semigroup of annuliComments: 40 pagesSubjects: Differential Geometry (math.DG); Representation Theory (math.RT)
The Lie algebra of vector fields on $S^1$ integrates to the Lie group of diffeomorphisms of $S^1$. It is well known since the work of Segal and Neretin that there is no Lie group whose Lie algebra is the complexification of vector fields on $S^1$. A substitute for that non-existent group is provided by the complex semigroup whose elements are annuli: genus zero Riemann surfaces with two boundary circles parametrized by $S^1$. The group $\mathrm{Diff}(S^1)$ sits at the boundary of that semigroup, and can be thought of as annuli which are completely thin, i.e. with empty interior.
In this paper, we consider an enlargement of the semigroup of annuli, denoted $\mathrm{Ann}$, where the annuli are allowed to be partially thin: their two boundary circles are allowed to touch each other along an arbitrary closed subset. We prove that every (partially thin) annulus $A\in \mathrm{Ann}$ is the time-ordered exponential of a path with values in the cone of inward pointing complexified vector fields on $S^1$, and use that fact to construct a central extension \[ 0\to \mathbb{C} \times \mathbb{Z} \to \tilde{\mathrm{Ann}} \to \mathrm{Ann} \to 0 \] that integrates the universal (Virasoro) central extension of the Lie algebra of vector fields on $S^1$.
In later work, we will prove that every unitary positive energy representations of the Virasoro algebra integrates to a holomorphic representation of $\tilde{\mathrm{Ann}}$ by bounded operators on a Hilbert space. - [10] arXiv:2410.06137 (cross-list from math.DG) [pdf, html, other]

Title: On double brackets for marked surfacesComments: 15 pages, 6 figuresSubjects: Differential Geometry (math.DG); Geometric Topology (math.GT); Rings and Algebras (math.RA); Representation Theory (math.RT)
We propose a construction of a double quasi-Poisson bracket on the group algebra associated to the twisted fundamental group of a marked oriented surface $(S,P)$ with boundary, where $P$ is a finite set of marked points on the boundary of the surface $S$ such that on every boundary component there is at least one point of $P$. We show that this double bracket is a noncommutative generalization of the well-known Goldman bracket, defined on the space of free homotopy classes of loops on $S$. For an algebra $A$ without polynomial identities, we construct a double bracket on the space of decorated twisted $\mathrm{GL}_n(A)$-, symplectic and indefinite orthogonal local systems.

Title: On the lattice of the weak factorization systems on a finite latticeComments: 49 pages, comments are welcomeSubjects: Combinatorics (math.CO); Algebraic Topology (math.AT); Group Theory (math.GR); Representation Theory (math.RT)
We consider the lattice of all the weak factorization systems on a given finite lattice. We prove that it is semidistributive, trim and congruence uniform. We deduce a graph theoretical approach to the problem of enumerating transfer systems. As an application we find a lower bound for the number of transfer systems on a boolean lattice.

Title: Equivariant geometry of symmetric quiver orbit closuresComments: 37 pagesSubjects: Algebraic Geometry (math.AG); Combinatorics (math.CO); Representation Theory (math.RT)
We unify problems about the equivariant geometry of symmetric quiver representation varieties, in the finite type setting, with the corresponding problems for symmetric varieties $GL(n)/K$ where $K$ is an orthogonal or symplectic group. In particular, we translate results about singularities of orbit closures; combinatorics of orbit closure containment; and torus equivariant cohomology and K-theory between these classes of varieties. We obtain these results by constructing explicit embeddings with nice properties of homogeneous fiber bundles over type $A$ symmetric quiver representation varieties into symmetric varieties.

Title: On automorphisms of affine superspacesComments: 8 pages. To appear in JAASubjects: Algebraic Geometry (math.AG); Group Theory (math.GR); Representation Theory (math.RT)
In this note, we propose a super version of Jacobian conjecture on the automorphisms of affine superspaces over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{F}$ of characteristic $0$, which predicts that for a homomorphism $\varphi$ of the polynomial superalgebra $\mathcal{R}:=\mathbb{F}[x_1,\ldots,x_m; \xi_1,\ldots,\xi_m]$ over $\mathbb{F}$, if $\varphi$ satisfies the super version of Jacobian condition (SJ for short), then $\varphi$ gives rise to an automorphism of the affine superspace $\mathbb{A}_{\mathbb{F}}^{m|n}$. We verify the conjecture if additionally, the set $\mathscr{M}$ of maximal $\mathbb{Z}_2$-homogeneous ideals of $\mathcal{R}$ is assumed to be preserved under $\varphi$. The statement is actually proved in any characteristic, i.e. a homomorphism $\varphi$ gives rise to an automorphism of $\mathbb{A}_{\mathbb{F}}^{m|n}$ if SJ is satisfied with $\varphi$ and the set $\mathscr{M}$ is preserved under $\varphi$ for an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{F}$ of any characteristic.

Title: Non-admissible irreducible representations of $p$-adic $\mathrm{GL}_{n}$ in characteristic $p$Comments: 15 pages, this version contains the erratum to the published version: the statement of Prop 3.1, its proof, and the proof of Thm 1.2 is correctedJournal-ref: Represent. Theory 27 (2023), 1088-1101Subjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Number Theory (math.NT)
Let $p>3$ and $F$ be a non-archimedean local field with residue field a proper finite extension of $\mathbb{F}_p$. We construct smooth absolutely irreducible non-admissible representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(F)$ defined over the residue field of $F$ extending the earlier results of the authors for $F$ unramified over $\mathbb{Q}_{p}$. This construction uses the theory of diagrams of Breuil and Paskunas. By parabolic induction, we obtain smooth absolutely irreducible non-admissible representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n(F)$ for $n>2$.

Title: On affine Lusztig varietiesComments: 20 pages, to appear in Annales scientifiques de l'École normale supérieureSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Algebraic Geometry (math.AG); Number Theory (math.NT)
Affine Lusztig varieties encode the orbital integrals of Iwahori--Hecke functions and serve as building blocks for the (conjectural) theory of affine character sheaves. We establish a close relationship between affine Lusztig varieties and affine Deligne--Lusztig varieties. Consequently, we give an explicit nonemptiness pattern and dimension formula for affine Lusztig varieties in most cases.

Title: On the integrality of locally algebraic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_{2}(D)$Comments: Lemma 2.4 is added. This is the published versionSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Number Theory (math.NT)
Emerton's theory of Jacquet modules for locally analytic representations provides necessary conditions for the existence of integral structures in locally analytic representations. These conditions are also expected to be sufficient for the integrality of generic irreducible locally algebraic representations. In this article, we prove the sufficiency of Emerton's conditions for some tamely ramified locally algebraic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_{2}(D)$ where $D$ is a $p$-adic division algebra.

Title: Twisted Jacquet modules: a conjecture of D. PrasadComments: Small corrections and further explanations in the proof of Theorem 4.8Subjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Number Theory (math.NT)
In this note, we study the twisted Jacquet modules of sub-quotients of principal series representations of ${\rm GL}_2(D)$ where $D$ is a division algebra over a non-archimedean local field $F$. We begin with a proof of a conjecture due to D. Prasad on twisted Jacquet modules of Speh representations of ${\rm GL}_2(D)$ when $D$ is the quaternionic division algebra. Later, when $D$ is an arbitrary division algebra over $F$, we focus on depth-zero principal series and compute the dimensions of twisted Jacquet modules of generalised Speh representations and investigate their structure explicitly.

Title: Irreducible modules of modular Lie superalgebras and super version of the first Kac-Weisfeiler conjectureComments: In this version, an improper statement in Theorem 4.7 is revised, which is for general solvable Lie superalgebras in odd characteristicJournal-ref: Canad. Math. Bull. Vol. 67 (3), 2024, pp. 554-573Subjects: Representation Theory (math.RT)
Suppose $g=g_0+g_1$ is a finite-dimensional restricted Lie superalgebra over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>2$. In this article, we propose a conjecture for maximal dimensions of irreducible modules over the universal enveloping algebra $U(g)$ of $g$, as a super generalization of the celebrated first Kac-Weisfeiler conjecture. It is demonstrated that the conjecture holds for all basic classical Lie superalgebras and all completely solvable restricted Lie superalgebras. In this process, we investigate irreducible representations of solvable Lie superalgebras.

Title: Central extensions of restricted Lie superalgebras and classification of $p$-nilpotent Lie superalgebras in dimension $4$Comments: Version 2 with minor changes and an example added. To appear in Journal of Algebra and its ApplicationsSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT)
The first main result of this paper is to build the first and second restricted cohomology groups for restricted Lie superalgebras in characteristic $p\geq3$, modifying a construction by Yuan, Chen and Cao. We will explain how these groups capture some algebraic structures, such as extensions and derivations. Further, we apply this construction to classify $p$-nilpotent restricted Lie superalgebras up to dimension $4$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p\geq3$.

Title: Groups without unitary representations, submeasures, and the escape propertyComments: 40 pages, no figures; v2: revised and extended, 44 pages, to appear in Mathematische AnnalenSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Functional Analysis (math.FA); Group Theory (math.GR)
We give new examples of topological groups that do not have non-trivial continuous unitary representations, the so-called exotic groups. We prove that all groups of the form $L^0(\phi, G)$, where $\phi$ is a pathological submeasure and $G$ is a topological group, are exotic. This result extends, with a different proof, a theorem of Herer and Christensen on exoticness of $L^0(\phi,\mathbb{R})$ for $\phi$ pathological. It follows that every topological group embeds into an exotic one. In our arguments, we introduce the escape property, a geometric condition on a topological group, inspired by the solution to Hilbert's fifth problem and satisfied by all locally compact groups, all non-archimedean groups, and all Banach--Lie groups. Our key result involving the escape property asserts triviality of all continuous homomorphisms from $L^0(\phi, G)$ to $L^0(\mu, H)$, where $\phi$ is pathological, $\mu$ is a measure, $G$ is a topological group, and $H$ is a topological group with the escape property.

Title: On modulo $\ell$ cohomology of $p$-adic Deligne-Lusztig varieties for $GL_n$Comments: 26 pages, minor changes, final versionJournal-ref: Journal of Algebra 663 (2025) 81-118Subjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Algebraic Geometry (math.AG)
In 1976, Deligne and Lusztig realized the representation theory of finite groups of Lie type inside étale cohomology of certain algebraic varieties. Recently, a $p$-adic version of this theory started to emerge: there are $p$-adic Deligne-Lusztig spaces, whose cohomology encodes representation theoretic information for $p$-adic groups - for instance, it partially realizes local Langlands correspondence with characteristic zero coefficients. However, the parallel case of coefficients of positive characteristic $\ell \neq p$ has not been inspected so far. The purpose of this article is to initiate such an inspection. In particular, we relate cohomology of certain $p$-adic Deligne-Lusztig spaces to Vignéras's modular local Langlands correspondence for $\mathbf{GL}_n$.

Title: Geometric Langlands for Irregular Theta Connections and Epipelagic RepresentationsComments: 29 pages. Add a section on local monodromy at zero, and clarify some ambiguity on the Kac coordinate assumptionSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Algebraic Geometry (math.AG)
From a stable vector of a stable grading on a simple Lie algebra, Yun defined a rigid automorphic datum that encodes a epipelagic representation, and also an irregular connection on the projective line called $\theta$-connection. We show that under geometric Langlands correspondence, $\theta$-connection corresponds to the Hecke eigensheaf attached the rigid automorphic datum, assuming the stable grading is inner and its Kac coordinate $s_0$ is positive. We provide numerous applications of the main result including physical and cohomological rigidity of $\theta$-connections, global oper structures, and a de Rham analog of Reeder-Yu's predictions on epipelagic Langlands parameters.

Title: Skew-Brauer graph algebrasComments: We reorganize some pictures and we include an acknowledgmentSubjects: Representation Theory (math.RT); Rings and Algebras (math.RA)
In this work, we introduce a new class of algebras called skew-Brauer graph algebras, which generalize the well-known Brauer graph algebras. We establish that skew-Brauer graph algebras are symmetric and can be defined using a Brauer graph with additional information. We show that the class of trivial extensions of skew-gentle algebras coincides with a subclass of skew-Brauer graph algebras, where the associated skew-Brauer graph has multiplicity function identically equal to one, generalizing a result over gentle algebras. We also characterize skew-Brauer algebras of finite representation type. Finally, we provide a geometric interpretation of cut-sets and reflections of algebras using orbifold dissections.

Title: A McKay Correspondence in Positive CharacteristicComments: 43 pages, final versionSubjects: Algebraic Geometry (math.AG); Commutative Algebra (math.AC); Representation Theory (math.RT)
We establish a McKay correspondence for finite and linearly reductive subgroup schemes of $\mathrm{SL}_2$ in positive characteristic. As an application, we obtain a McKay correspondence for all rational double point singularities in characteristic $p\geq7$. We discuss linearly reductive quotient singularities and canonical lifts over the ring of Witt vectors. In dimension 2, we establish simultaneous resolutions of singularities of these canonical lifts via $G$-Hilbert schemes. In the appendix, we discuss several approaches towards the notion of conjugacy classes for finite group schemes: This is an ingredient in McKay correspondences, but also of independent interest.

Title: A functorial approach to $n$-abelian categoriesComments: 60 pages. v2: added references; minor changes in the introduction; some results of section 7 have been improved; minor changes in section 8; added a new appendixSubjects: Category Theory (math.CT); Representation Theory (math.RT)
We develop a functorial approach to the study of $n$-abelian categories by reformulating their axioms in terms of their categories of finitely presented functors. Such an approach allows the use of classical homological algebra and representation theory techniques to understand higher homological algebra. As an application, we present two possible generalizations of the axioms "every monomorphism is a kernel" and "every epimorphism is a cokernel" of an abelian category to $n$-abelian categories. We also specialize our results to modules over rings, thereby describing when the category of finitely generated projective modules over a ring is $n$-abelian. Moreover, we establish a correspondence for $n$-abelian categories with additive generators, which extends the higher Auslander correspondence.
