- Avenue is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. The station is located in North Toronto on Eglinton Avenue between Avenue Road and Highbourne Road. It is the deepest underground station on the line. Destinations include the Chaplin Estates neighbourhood, Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School, the Eglinton Theatre, and Eglinton Park. The station is scheduled to open in 2023. The main entrance to this underground station will be located on the northwest corner of Eglinton and Avenue Road; the second entrance will be located approximately 80 metres (260 ft) east on the north side of Eglinton. Retail spaces will be available at both entrances at street level. The station will have on-street connections to TTC buses and outdoor parking for 50 bicycles. There is a third centre track on the east side of the station between the eastbound and westbound tracks either to store a train or to allow a train to change direction due to an emergency or a change in service. Avenue station was one of four underground stations that was "mined" (built using the sequential excavation method) rather than being built using the cut-and-cover method like most of the other underground stations. Both the station platform and the centre-track structure are part of a single circular tube, and there are no support columns between the three tracks. Shops were demolished to construct the two station entrances. In a report to the TTC Board on November 23, 2015, it was recommended that stations on Line 5 Eglinton should be given unique names. Metrolinx initially proposed that the station be named "Avenue", for Avenue Road. Later, Metrolinx changed the proposed name to "Oriole Park". However, by January 2016, the proposed station name had been changed back to "Avenue" because "Oriole Park" was too similar to the name of another transit station within Toronto, namely Oriole GO Station on GO Transit's Richmond Hill line. Vorgesehen sind Umsteigemöglichkeiten zu drei Buslinien der Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Jenseits des westlichen Endes des Bahnsteigs wird es zwischen den beiden Richtungsgleisen eine Wendeanlage mit Abstellgleis und zwei Gleiswechseln geben, sodass Züge bei Notfällen, Störungen und kurzfristigen Betriebsanpassungen die Fahrtrichtung ändern können. Avenue ist außerdem eine von drei Tunnelstationen der Eglinton-Linie (neben Laird und Oakwood), die mit der Neuen Österreichischen Tunnelbaumethode anstatt wie sonst üblich in offener Bauweise errichtet werden. Die Gleise werden 32 Meter unter der Erdoberfläche verlaufen, was der tiefsten Stelle der gesamten Strecke entspricht. In einem Bericht zuhanden des Vorstands vom 23. November 2015 empfahl die TTC-Direktion eindeutige und unverwechselbare Namen für die Stationen der künftigen Eglinton-Linie. Die staatliche Verkehrsplanungsgesellschaft Metrolinx schlug darauf vor, die Station Avenue zu nennen und änderte den Vorschlag später zu Oriole Park. Im Januar 2016 legte sich Metrolinx jedoch endgültig auf Avenue fest, da Oriole Park zu Verwechslungen mit dem Bahnhof Oriole an der Richmond-Linie von GO Transit geführt hätte. Nachdem im Juni 2013 die Tunnelbohrarbeiten an der Eglinton-Linie begonnen hatten, hätte die Station ursprünglich im September 2021 in Betrieb genommen werden sollen. Aufgrund verschiedener unvorhergesehener Probleme während der Arbeiten erklärte Metrolinx im Februar 2020, dass sie erst im Verlaufe des Jahres 2022 eröffnet werden wird. Im Dezember 2021 rechnete Metrolinx jedoch damit, dass die Strecke möglicherweise erst zu Beginn des Jahres 2023 in Betrieb gehen könnte. (de)
- 애비뉴역 (Avenued Station)은 토론토 지하철에 새로 지어지고 있는 경전철 노선인 5호선 에글린턴선의 정차역이다. 토론토 및 지역의 애비뉴 로드와 에글린턴 애비뉴에 지어지고 있는 이 역은 2023년에 개통을 앞두고 있다. 지하로 지어지고 있는 이 역은 정문이 에글린턴과 애비뉴 로드 북서쪽에 위치할 예정이며, 기존에 있던 편의점 건물을 허물고 지어진다. 두 번째 출입구는 에글린턴 애비뉴 북쪽, 애비뉴 로드에서 동쪽으로 80미터 떨어진 곳에 지어지며 상가 건물 두 곳을 허물고 지어진다. 지상층에는 상점이 입주할 공간이 두 출입구에 마련된다. 이 역은 별도의 버스 터미널 없이 역 밖에 있는 버스 정류장에서 버스를 갈아타게 되며 자전거 50대를 놓을 수 있는 거치대가 야외에 설치된다. 애비뉴역은 기존에 지하철을 지을 때 보통 쓰는 개착식 공법이 아닌 NATM 공법으로 발파해서 짓는 에글린턴선의 4개 역 중 하나이다. 이 역은 에글린턴선에서 가장 깊은 역이기도 한데, 지하 32미터에 위치해있다. 애비뉴역에는 마운트데니스와 키플링 방면 승강장 사이에 주박선을 설치해 비상시에 방향을 바꾸어 운행하거나 야간에 주박할 수 있는 공간이 마련된다. 이 역은 설계 과정에서 처음에 역명을 애비뉴 로드의 이름을 따서 '애비뉴'라고 지었으나 메트로링스는 이 이름을 동네 이름인 오리올파크로 바꾸었고, 2016년 1월에 오리올파크라는 이름이 GO 트랜싯 리치먼드힐선의 오리올역과 비슷하다는 이유에서 애비뉴역으로 다시 바뀌었다.
