- Els egbemes són els membres de la tribu o clan ijaw egbema. Viuen a l'oest del , al nord de l'estat del Delta i a l'estat d'Edo, a Nigèria. La capital dels egbemes és la ciutat d'Ofiniama. Els egbemes parlen el dialecte egbema, de la llengua izon. Els egbemes tenen una identitat ijaw clara, tot i que viuen a l'extrem occidental d'ijawland. The Egbema have a strong Ijaw cultural identity, despite their location on the western fringe of Ijawland. The Kingdom traces its origins to several migrations from the Ijaw heartland centuries ago.Egbema tribe is under the overlordship of the Agadagba of Egbema Kingdom.The Kingdom is made up of nine original settlements (clans) called the Egbema-Isenabiri.
