- Fruita ist eine Geisterstadt im Capitol-Reef-Nationalpark in Utah, Vereinigte Staaten. Sie wurde um 1880 von Angehörigen der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der Letzten Tage („Mormonen“) unter dem Namen Junction gegründet und 1902 in Fruita umbenannt. Die Siedlung wurde um 1966 aufgegeben und war besonders für ihre Obstplantagen berühmt, die bis heute gepflegt werden. Sie liegt im Tal des Fremont River in Wayne County an der Utah State Route 24 auf etwa 1700 m. Erhalten sind die Obstplantagen, das historische Schulhaus, ein Blockhaus sowie ein Farmhaus mit Scheune und Nebengebäuden. An modernen Einrichtungen gibt es den Campingplatz des Nationalparks. Das Besucherzentrum des Parks und eine kleine Siedlung für die Angestellten der Parkverwaltung liegen westlich des ehemaligen Ortes unterhalb der markanten Sandsteinformation The Castle. (de)
