- The Marquee byl hudební klub, který se při svém otevření v roce 1958 nacházel na Oxford Street v čísle 165 v Londýně. Pořádaly se zde jazzové a skiffleové koncerty. Během svého nejslavnějšího období, v letech 1964–1988, byl v čísle 90 na Wardour Street v Soho. Do svého konečného zavření v roce 1996 se nacházel v čísle 105 na Charing Cross Road. Během 21. století vznikly pod tímto názvem tři kluby, ale ani jeden neuspěl. Byl to vždy malý a poměrně levný klub, který se nacházel v srdci hudebního průmyslu v londýnském West Endu. Svou kariéru v něm začínalo mnoho rockových hudebníků. Dne 12. července 1962 zde proběhl první koncert The Rolling Stones. (cs)

In het eerste decennium van de 21e eeuw werd een drietal keren tevergeefs geprobeerd de club weer nieuw leven in te blazen. The Marquee (de naam is waarschijnlijk afgeleid van de rood-witte markies aan de voorgevel van de club in 1958) was het trefpunt voor het eerste optreden van allerhande groepen die later wereldberoemd zouden worden. Het allereerste live optreden van The Rolling Stones vond er plaats op 12 juli 1962. Er was in die tijd vaak geen vaste affiche. W latach 60. wielokrotnie grywali tam tacy wykonawcy jak: Alexis Korner, Cyril Davies, Chris Barber, The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Who, King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, a w latach późniejszych Queen, The Stranglers, Generation X, , The Police, Skrewdriver, Buzzcocks, The Jam, Joy Division, Wham!, The Cure, Prince, Genesis, Iron Maiden, Marillion, Metallica, Alice in Chains. W roku 1988 budynek, w którym mieścił się klub, został sprzedany na przebudowę, a Marquee Club musiał przenieść się do większego lokalu przy 105 Charing Cross Road w Londynie. Kolejna przeprowadzka miała miejsce w 2007 do lokalu przy Upper Saint Martins Lane w Covent Garden. (pl)
