- Poirot rechnet ab (Originaltitel: Poirot investigates) ist eine Sammlung von Kriminalgeschichten von Agatha Christie. Sie erschien zuerst im März 1924 im Vereinigten Königreich bei The Bodley Head. Christie schrieb auf Anregung ihres Lektors Bruce Ingram, der von Poirot in Das fehlende Glied in der Kette stark beeindruckt war, ab 1922 auch Kurzgeschichten. Sie wurden wie folgt veröffentlicht. In den elf Kriminalgeschichten löst der berühmte, exzentrische Detektiv Hercule Poirot eine Reihe von geheimnisvollen Fällen aus Eifersucht, Gier und Rache. Die amerikanische Version dieses Buches wurde von Dodd, Mead and Company 1925 veröffentlicht. Sie enthält drei weitere Geschichten. Die Deutsche Erstausgabe erschien 1959 unter dem Titel Poirot rechnet ab: Kriminalgeschichten. in der bis heute verwendeten Übersetzung von Ralph von Stedman im Desch Verlag München, Wien, Basel. Heute liegen die Rechte beim Scherz Verlag, welcher 2003 vom Fischer Verlag übernommen wurde.
