- Polistil S.p.A. (initially called Politoys) is an Italian toy brand and former manufacturing company headquartered in Milan, with production center in Chiari, near Brescia. Polistil specialized in die-cast and plastic scale model vehicles of all sizes. The company also made toy and model tanks, dolls, robots and TV tie-ins. After a 33-year span, and a collaboration with Tonka, Polistil went out of business in 1993, but now is a brand under the May Cheong Group (owner of the brand Maisto), along with the name of former competitor Bburago. Traditionally, the principal Italian competitors to Polistil were Mercury, Mebetoys, and the shorter run Ediltoys. (en)

- La Polistil (in origine chiamata Politoys) è stata una azienda italiana produttrice di giocattoli con centro direzionale a Milano, nel Quartiere di Quinto Romano, e stabilimento produttivo a Chiari, in provincia di Brescia. Era specializzata in modellini in plastica e metallo, di tutte le dimensioni e produsse anche giocattoli, tra cui modelli di carri armati, bambole, action figure, robot e prodotti correlati a programmi TV. Dopo trentatré anni di attività e una collaborazione con Tonka, Polistil nel 1993 si ritirò dal commercio. Ora è solo uno dei tanti marchi (vedi anche Bburago) di cui è entrato in possesso il gruppo cinese May Cheong Group. (it)
- Polistil is een Italiaanse fabrikant van modelauto's. Voortgekomen uit Politoys werd men gedwongen om de naam te laten vallen. Politoys was een van de pioniers in de grote schaal (1:16 in dit geval), toen men in 1976 met de productie van deze modellen begon. Daarnaast maakte het 1:15 motorfietsen, 1:43 en 1:25 modelauto's. De jaren 80 werden overleefd door de productie te verplaatsen naar Hong Kong. Enkele modellen uit deze tijd werden later uitgegeven onder het merk KEES. In 1988 werd Polistil overgenomen door Tonka, bekend van de blikken auto's. De fusie creëerde Tonka-Polistil. Toch kon men niet opboksen tegen het machtig geworden Bburago. In 1989 werd het overgenomen. In 1992 werden Polistil auto's niet meer verkocht onder de naam Tonka, in 1994 stopte de verkoop algeheel. Dit was nog niet het einde, want Bburago blies het (korststondig) nieuw leven in, met een serie 1:64 auto's. Alle modellen werden onder licentie van gemaakt, op één uitzondering na, de Alfa Romeo 156. Toen eind 2005 Bburago failliet ging (en vrijwel direct overgenomen werd door Maisto), werd de toekomst van Polistil wel erg bleek. (nl)
