- رينا هي شركة إيطاليّة تأسَّست في جنوة عام 1861 تحت اسم السِّجل البحري الإيطالي (بالإيطالية: REGISTRO ITALIANO NAVALE) وذلك على يدِ رابطة التأمين البحري المتبادل (بالإيطالية: Associazione della Mutua Assicurazione Marittima) التي تأسست بدورها في جنوة عام 1857 من قِبل مديري مالكي السفن وذلك لتغطية المخاطر المتعلقة بفقدان و/أو تلف بدن السفن الشراعيّة وتجهيزها لتلبية احتياجات المشغلين البحريين الإيطاليين كما حدث سابقًا في بريطانيا العظمى وفرنسا. منذ تأسيسها، كانت شركةُ السجل البحري الإيطالي أو رينا أداةً لدعمِ التنمية الاقتصادية في المناطق التي تعمل فيها، وبعد أكثر من 150 عامًا لم يتغيّر دور رينا ولكنه توسع لتلبية احتياجات الاقتصاد الدولي المتطور باستمرار. - RINA is a private, multinational company headquartered in Genoa, Italy. It was founded in 1861 under the name Registro Italiano Navale (Italian Naval Register). That same year, following the enforcement of a 1994 European Council directive regarding the inspection, survey and certification of ships that liberalized the ship classification market, the Registro Italiano Navale transferred all operational activities to RINA S.p.A., making it the sole, and later, majority shareholder. Until 1999, RINA worked almost exclusively as a ship classification company, and has since included operations in the following sectors: Energy and Mobility, Marine, Certification, Industry and Real Estate and Infrastructure. - Il Registro italiano navale nasce a Genova nel 1861, con il nome di Registro Italiano, su iniziativa dell'Associazione della Mutua Assicurazione Marittima e degli armatori genovesi. La sua fondazione è annunciata sul quotidiano Corriere Mercantile il 24 settembre 1861. Terza società di classificazione fondata nel mondo, nasce come Ente di diritto privato senza scopi di lucro, accreditato per svolgere accertamenti, anche di carattere statuale, inerenti alla sicurezza della navigazione e alla stazzatura delle navi. Fino al 1999 ha svolto direttamente le attività operative inerenti alla classificazione e certificazione statuale, in regime di monopolio sulle navi battenti bandiera italiana, e anche su navi battenti altre bandiere. Nel 2000, in concomitanza con la cessazione del regime di monopolio, ha trasferito tutte le attività operative a RINA S.p.A., società per azioni con sede a Genova di cui divenne azionista unico, e di cui oggi è azionista di riferimento.
