Elle est typiquement employée comme un outil pour démontrer la compétence, le talent, et l'expérience de l'artiste dans un domaine choisi, tel que le jeu d'acteur, la réalisation, le montage, le son (musique, sound design...), les effets spéciaux, l'animation, ou les jeux vidéo. - A showreel (also known as a demo reel, sizzle reel, or work reel) is a short video showcasing a person's previous work used by many kinds of people involved in filmmaking and other media, including actors, animators, lighting designers, editors, and models. Usually 2 to 3 minutes in length and consisting of footage from different projects, a showreel typically supplements a résumé and is used to promote the person to talent agents, producers, and casting directors. A voice actor may create an audio-only showreel, referred to as a voice reel, for the same purpose. Outside of the entertainment industry, companies use showreels for brand management and other forms of marketing communications and public relations, which in this case is called a corporate showreel. Showreel, МФА: [SHōˌrēl] — «демонстрационный ролик») — видеоролик, представляющий образцы работы кинокомпании, режиссёра, оператора, актёра, фотомодели, корреспондента, телеведущего, дизайнера и т. п. Создаётся в качестве портфолио, чтобы найти работу в новых проектах, продемонстрировав опыт и навыки. Иногда шоурилы делают для выставок и мультимедиа-галерей. Обычно состоит из наиболее зрелищных фрагментов. Структура шоурила аналогична структуре тизера или трейлера. Кадры могут комбинироваться в видеоряд из несвязанных фрагментов по принципу калейдоскопа, чтобы оставить впечатление разнообразности созданных работ. Либо шоурил монтируется в более последовательную и логичную форму, которая чередуется со зрелищными моментами и спецэффектами. Видеоряд может сопровождаться голосовыми или текстовыми комментариями. При создании шоурила от режиссёра монтажа требуется продумать структуру ролика, подобрать подходящую по настроению музыку и звуки, а также выбрать кадры, наиболее выгодно представляющие лицо шоурила.
