- La tinya del cuir cabellut (coneguda també en llatí com a tinea capitis; o com tinya del cap o tinya del cabell) és una infecció per fongs cutània (dermatofitosi) del cuir cabellut. La malaltia és causada principalment per dels gèneres Trichophyton i que envaeixen la tija del cabell. La presentació clínica sol ser una o múltiples clapes de pèrdua de cabell, de vegades amb un patró de "punt negre" (sovint amb pèls trencats), que pot anar acompanyat d'inflamació, descamació, pústules i picor. Poc freqüent en adults, la tinea capitis es veu predominantment en nens prepuberals, més sovint en nens que en nenes. La forma més inflamatòria s'anomena queri. Almenys vuit espècies de dermatòfits estan associades amb la tinea capitis. Els casos d'infecció per Trichophyton predominen des d'Amèrica Central fins als Estats Units i en algunes parts d'Europa occidental. Les infeccions per espècies de Microsporum es troben principalment a Amèrica del Sud, Europa central i meridional, Àfrica i Orient Mitjà. La malaltia és infecciosa i es pot transmetre per humans, animals o objectes que alberguen el fong. El fong també pot existir en estat portador al cuir cabellut, sense simptomatologia clínica. - سعفة الرأس هو مرض يصيب بصيلات الشعر ولكن لا يؤدي إلى موتها ويظهر بشكل مفاجئ ووجد انه أحيانا يأتي بعد التعرض لوضع نفسي سيء كفقدان أحد الأقارب أو طلاق المرأة من زوجها وغيرها من العوامل النفسية المفاجئة.كثير من المصابين بمرض الثعلبة سواء كانوا رجالا أو نساء يعانون كثيرا من القلق والخوف والتوتر الناتج عن ذلك المرض فتجدهم يهرعون إلى العيادات محاولين إيجاد حل لمشاكلهم وهذا القلق الذي لا دواعي له يكون عائقا امام استجابة المريض للعلاج وقد يكون سببا لتفاقم المشكلة لانه أثبت علميا ان العامل النفسي هو أهم العوامل المساعدة لظهور المرض وانتشاره على المريض ان يتقبل هذا المرض بنفسية عالية إذا ان نسبة الشفاء جيدة خصوصا إذا كانت المساحة المصابة صغيرة أو متوسطة يتميز المرض بوحود بقع خالية من الشعر بشكل كامل أو شبه كامل مع عدم أي تغير في سطح البشرة من تقشير كما لا توجد أي أعراض غير سقوط الشعر والذي غالبا ما يكون فجائيا خلال عدة أيام. بالنسبة للعلاج، فيجب أولاً إعطاء المريض فكرة مبسطة عن المرض وأن احتمالية عودة الشعر للنمو تلقائياً وأحياناً بدون أدوية قد تحدث في عدد من أشكال المرض. أما في حالة الإصابة بالسعفة الكلية أو العامة أي عند فقدان كل شعر الرأس أو في حالات نادرة شعر الجسم كله، فيجب أن نتحدث للمريض بكل صدق وأمانة، لأن معظم تلك الحالات لا يستجيب للعلاج بشكل جيد وفي بعضها حتى لو تمت الاستجابة فإنه سرعان ما يفقد المريض ذلك الشعر الذي نما بعد التوقف عن استخدام العلاج، وبما أن بعض الأدوية إذا استخدمت لفترات طويلة قد تسبب أضرار جانبية يكون المريض في غنى عنها وبشكل عام ينصح المريض باستخدام باروكة مناسبة لشكله وطبيعة وجهه كآخر الخيارات المتاحة إذا ما قد حاول جميع الخيارات العلاجية الأخرى.
