- Le Tipperary GAA est une sélection sportive irlandaise basée dans la province de Munster et pratiquant les sports gaéliques : Hurling, football gaélique et camogie., le Tipperary GAA évolue au Semple Stadium (55 000 places), situé à Thurles. Le Comté de Tipperary occupe une place à part dans l’histoire de la GAA, c’est sur son territoire, à l’hôtel Hayes de Thurles, qu’a été créé le 1er novembre 1884 l’association Avec Cork et Kilkenny Tipperary GAA est une des « superpuissance » du hurling. Son équipe a le troisième plus beau palmarès de la discipline avec 25 victoires dans le All-Ireland Series (palmarès arrêté en 2005). Tipperary a réussi par deux fois à gagner le championnat trois fois consécutivement (1898, 1899, 1900) et (1949, 1950, 1951).L’équipe des années 1960 est considérée comme une des plus grandes équipes de tous les temps.Toutefois, l’équipe n’a plus le lustre de ces années-là : En effet, sur les 35 dernières années elle n’a gagné que 3 All-Ireland. - Il Tipperary County Board, più conosciuto come Tipperary GAA (in gaelico Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Tiobraid Árann) è uno dei 32 county boards irlandesi responsabile della promozione degli sport gaelici nella contea di Tipperary e dell'organizzazione dei match della propria rappresentativa inter-county con altre contee. Sia la rappresentativa che il board sono sempre rimasti uniti, anche quando la contea fu per un breve periodo di anni divisa in North e South Tipperary. Tipperary occupa un posto importante nella storia degli sport gaelici, dato che la GAA fu fondata il 1º novembre 1884 presso l'Hayes' Hotel di Thurles. Lo sport nettamente dominante è l'hurling, ma il movimento di calcio gaelico è comunque consistente. (it)

County Tipperary holds an honoured place in the history of the GAA as the organisation was founded in Hayes' Hotel, Thurles, on 1 November 1884. The county football team was the second from the province of Munster both to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), as well as to appear in the final, following Limerick. The county hurling team is third in the all-time rankings for All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) wins, behind only Cork and Kilkenny. (en)
