Friedman, State Assembly Look to Improve Sexual Harassment Policies, Response

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Chair of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, gaveled in its first hearing in January, following the release of the #WeSaidEnough letter. That open letter, signed by more than 150 people in the Capitol community, made it clear sexual harassment is a substantial problem that must be addressed. This hearing focused on “Best Practices for Changing Culture on Sexual Harassment” and featured testimony from experts, human resources officials and a representative from the National Conference of State Legislatures. Friedman Leads Series of Investigative Hearings into Sexual Harassment Policies, Response

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Chair of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, is leading a series of informational hearings to determine the best way to end workplace sexual harassment in the Capitol community. The Subcommittee’s second hearing focused on “Defining Harassment and Identifying Challenges” and included testimony from legal and business experts. Friedman Led Subcommittee Tackling Sexual Harassment Policies, Response

(Sacramento) – In response to the growing movement to end the culture of workplace sexual harassment in the Capitol community, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Chair of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, has been leading a series of informational hearings to develop new and more effective workplace sexual harassment policies and responses. In the Subcommittee’s third hearing the focus was on “Best Practices for Reporting Sexual Harassment and Providing Victim Support” and included testimony from human resources managers, technology specialists who are developing reporting tools and victim support experts. Sexual Harassment SubCommittee Hearing 4:

Friedman Led Hearings into Sexual Harassment Policies, Response Continue

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Chair of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, called the fourth hearing of the Subcommittee to order in March. After hearings on the extent of the problem and how to define sexual harassment, the third hearing was on “Investigation and Response to Sexual Harassment Allegations” and included testimony from experts in sexual harassment investigations. Friedman, State Assembly Improving Sexual Harassment Policies, Response

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Chair of the Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response, has been leading a series of informational hearings to develop new and more effective workplace sexual harassment policies and responses. In the Subcommittee’s fifth hearing the focus was on “Preventing Sexual Harassment through Training and Culture Change” and included reports from specialists in in the field.
