POSTDEVELOPMENT, LOCAL DEVELOPMENT AND CIVILIZATIONAL TRANSITIONS. THEORETICAL EXPLOTATIONS FOR DIALOGUE AND CREATIVE SYNERGIES This paper undertakes a theoretical exploration of the potential benefits of a creative dialogue and synergy between postdevelopment and territorial or local development approaches. It reviews the strengths and weaknesses of each, and the criticisms they have received. It then connects this analysis with the emergence of civilizational transition discourses, analyzing the place that the local and territorial dimension has occupied in Latin American intellectual discourses. Finally, after analyzing a proposal of design for transitions, it conducts an exercise of imagination on the benefits that could emerge from the space for dialogue between the mentioned approaches.

CIVILIZATION TRANSITIONS AND CRISIS OF MODERNITY: TOWARDS AN EMANCIPATORY READING OF THE CONCEPT OF CIVILIZATION? SOME INITIAL CONSIDERATIONS This article builds an framework to relate the concept of civilization with the discussion on the crisis of modernity, in the context of the emergence of civilizational transition discourses in response to the global ecological/social imperatives, exploring ways in which it could help us deal with it more comprehensively, in particular the tradition versus modernity dichotomy, as well as among the multiple modernity's and the decolonial/postcolonial projects. In this way, it attempts an emancipatory reading of the concept by revealing the implications that arise when considering both its dimensions as a social process as well as a socio-cultural system in the relationships with the world, focusing reflection on the codes of mutual coexistence at increasingly larger societal scales in response to the imperatives of the crisis in this age of transition.
