In 1995-2015 worked as director of Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve. From 2016 -2018 she worked as the director of Qala State Historical-Ethnographic reserve. From 2019 - 2023 she worked as a deputy director of the Museum Center IcheriSheher. From July of the 2023 to present she is the Associate Professor, PhD at the "History of Art" department at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. She is the author of more than 100 publications about Rock Art of Azerbaijan and Gobustan, the author of the books “Cupules of Gobustan”(2007), “Rock Art of Azerbaijan”(2009), “World of Rock Art of Azerbaijan”(2017) and 15 International projects. .Farajova took traineeships for Post-Doctoral Education at Oxford University (UK) in 2006 and as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Connecticut (USA) in 2008. From 2015 she is an expert of the project of the Paleoart Center of UNESCO of Russian Academy of Science at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography. Since the discovery of the petroglyphs of Gobustan, there have been numerous studies of petroglyphs, field work on documentation, and archeological excavations. Despite the extensive literature on Gobustan, the issue of dating the rock paintings remains controversial. The author of the paper, using the results of radiocarbon dating and the 3D Studio Max software, classifies the petroglyphs by periods. As a result, the oldest date – 13 610 CD (calibrated date) – was revealed in Gobustan in the rocky shelter of Gaya Arasi on the Kichikdash mountain. The next oldest date is approximately 10,600 CD, which was obtained from the cultural layer of the Ana-zaga cave of the Beyukdash mountain. Considering that the Late Khvalyn transgression took place nearly 14,000 years ago, and during this period the waters of the Khvalyn Sea washed the Beyukdash, Kichikdash and Dzhingirdag mountains, the interval between these dates may be due to the fluctuations of the sea level. Archaeological findings support an assertion that, in the late Pleistocene, the southern and western shores of the Caspian Sea were inhabited by people. Until now, settlements of late Upper Paleolithic-Mesolithic periods have mostly been found in Gobustan (Azerbaijan), in the plain of Mazandaran (Iran), and in the mountainous part of Dagestan (the North Caucasus). Artefacts of the Upper Paleolithic-Mesolithic periods from the southern and western shores of the Caspian Sea have revealed a connection between them. The Mesolithic artefacts from the south-west shore of the Caspian Sea can be identified as a common culture from the Mesolithic period. As likely as not, the emergence of archaeological sites as a common culture on the shore of the Caspian Sea was influenced by environmental factors during the late Pleistocene-early Holocene.
