There is no information on the prevalence of this polymorphism and its relationship with CAD in south Indian population. Methods: A case control study was performed for the determination of the influence of Glu298 Asp polymorphism of eNOS gene in Tamilian population of south India. The study subjects comprised of 100 angiographically proven CAD patients and 100 age- and sex-matched volunteers asymptomatic for CAD, with a low coronary risk score. Genotyping of the eNOS gene was done by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR RFLP) method. Results: The genotype distribution was not significantly different between CAD (GG; 72, GT; 26, TT; 2) and control subjects (GG; 79, GT; 18, TT; 3). The corresponding allele frequencies were G 0.85, T 0.15 and G 0.88, T 0.12, respectively. The odds ratio for the association of CAD with the Asp variant failed to achieve statistical significance (OR = 0.66; 95% CI: 0.11-4.04, P = 1.0). Conclusion: No significant association was observed between the Glu298 Asp polymorphism and CAD in this population group.

Generative AI (generative AI or GenAI) is a self-learning AI algorithm capable of generating text, images, or other media. A large language model (LLM) is a GenAI model chatbot for deep learning of large data sets and is capable of undertaking various natural language processing tasks in response to user prompts. [1] In late 2022, the human-like interactivity and commendable language skills of a generative AI LLM chatbot (Chat Generative Pretrained Transformer [GPT]-3) caught everyone's imagination, and the general public enthusiastically joined in the creative use of chatbots to generate textual outputs. Since then, there have been several debates and discussions on GenAI and its impact on various fields of human endeavor, including the scientific publication processes. [2]

Higher Education Ministry’s directive to teach in face-to-face in the campus 2. Medical council directive to complete the year’s curriculum by innovative approach 3. Lock-down measures preventing students from reaching the University with ease 4. QA agency directive to ensure that all the stated outcomes are achieved 5. Parental demands to keep their children safe at home during the pandemic. This summarizes in a tabular format, all the innovations we put into action during the pandemic disruptions to hospital-based teaching-learning of clinical skills.

Methods: Research hypothesis of the study is that the stress of the final year students will be more than others. The study followed cross-sectional observational study design. Total of 166 students (73 3rd years, 50 final years and 43 interns) from a private dental college in south India participated in the study. Modified DES Questionnaire was given in an electronic format and the data were collected. One way and two way ANOVA with post hoc analysis was used to calculate stress score. Results: The 3rd year students were significantly less stressed than their seniors. The final years and the interns had equal amounts of stress. The academic factors followed by patient and clinic responsibilities and professional identity were the key stress contributing factors for the final year students. Faculty relations and personal life issues were the least contributing factors for all the three batches. Conclusion: Revision of the redundant areas in curriculum, considerate changes in the clinical quota system, academic support system, guidance, and counseling for psychological well-being of the students are the need of the hour to decrease the stress in the clinical dental students.

It has placed the four visible elements of a healthcare consultation at the apex of four pyramids, viz., i) Patient (Pt), ii) Doctor (Dr), iii) Disease and iv) Treatment (Rx). What many of us, miss out are the various factors that link these four elements, viz., telecommunication, transport and media. These are placed in the outer ring linking the four pyramids. The inner ring plays the vital roles of regulating and supporting the four elements: regulation by the Governing bodies and support by non-governmental agencies like the WHO. The experience of discussing this model with interns and residents is highlighted.

This 16 page manual uses only 4 of the 12 leads to explain how to read an ECG systematically. Once the basics of systematic approach is learnt, usually in around 2 hours, the learner can quickly progress from analyzing 4 leads to all the 12 leads of an ECG.

We conducted a faculty development workshop to make the nursing educators, i) Appreciate the importance of PBQs in UG and PG Nursing education, ii) List the important characteristics of PBQs, and iii) Critically analyze a given PBQ to evaluate its quality and acceptability as a test item. The session plan and the check-list to assess the quality of a given PBQ form this draft paper.

Before they move over to inter-professional education, the current hot area of educational innovation, they need to start integrating among their own disciplines, at present run in "silo-mode". The author shares his workshop strategy i) to promote the concept of integration (Harden's 11-step integration) and ii) to design integrated modules for Teaching-Learning.

Teaching case vignettes are presented to highlight how these factors influence coping behaviour of patients.

The drive to "goal directed behavior" is conative in origin and is an integral part of competency-based curricula. Without conation, the gap between knowledge and action would remain wide, despite the competency orientation. Similarly conation reduces the Competence-Performance gap. This presentation paper derives from available literature to coax the enlightened educators to adopt conative domain as a way of promoting competency outcomes in real-life practice.
