The study is intended to explore the information literacy skills of the librarians in this era of electronic librarianship. Questionnaire and observation techniques were used to gather data. A total of 30 librarians made up of professionals and para -professionals were used in the study. Finding reveal personal characteristics of respondents, working experience, and qualifications of respondents, the way they access information, use of computer in workplace, Internet connectivity and the number of times they access the Internet per week. The work also reveals the way the librarians evaluate the information gathered and the problem encountered. The study concl udes that the librarians are qualified professionals, they do not use computers for their daily duties at workplace and they are not connected to the Internet, they lack in-service training. Recommendations were made. Key Words: Information, literacy, technology, librarian, University.

The main aim is to check the availability of e-resources according to the users' needs of Alagappa University in the various disciplines. Students' assessment and usage of varied information resources currently available through the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium is focused. The paper attempts to define the consortium, objectives, scope, and the currently subscribed e-resources for various disciplines in the university and the utilisation level of the users. Design and Methodology: The researchers had adopted survey method in this study. Questionnaires were distributed to the students of selected departments of Alagappa University. The population of the study had included 110 respondents. Questionnaires were distributed to both male and female students. Based on the collected data pertaining to both the interpretation and tabulation, the usage of UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium resources was analysed. Findings: Present study has shown the better impact and usage of UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium resources in Alagappa University. In the present environment UGC-INFONET plays a major role in supporting academicians. The respondents are expecting and using the current article alert service and electronic document supply service is found through this project. Majority of the respondents utilise UGC-INFONET for preparing project work, seminars. It is also found that most of the users are female students when comparing male students.

The data were exported to MS-Excel where the tabulation and simple statistical methods was applied. It also examined students' awareness of e-resources and satisfaction level; problems are faced by users while using e-resources. The sample consists of 80 respondents drawn respectively from a population of 120 from the college. Descriptive survey method was used to draw data through the Alagappa College of Arts and Science Library questionnaire on Electronic Information Resources in the study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages. It was found that majority of respondents have low knowledge of e-resources, they may be use university library it will be get more number of e-resources. The study concludes that user low awareness of e-resources and moderate level of satisfaction.

A survey of the questionnaire was distributed randomly to a total of 150 students in a rural area in Dindigul district. The survey research design was a study adopted. The data for quantitative research were analyzed for both descriptive and inferential statistic using SPSS (version 23) software. A comparison of undergraduate students between awareness and use of ICT sources and services. Independent samples t-test and ANOVA test difference were performed across two groups, which are gender and age. The results of the tests conducted indicate that ICT integration is of great effectiveness for the students. The study found that majority of the respondents had ICT information needs on their academic engagements like class assignment and preparing exam updating subject Knowledge. The study recommended that the teaching needed to ICT oriented training program for rural students it improve their career development and education level.

This article attempts to analyze the Digital Library research publications based on data indexed ... more This article attempts to analyze the Digital Library research publications based on data indexed from the Web of Science database between the periods 2009 to 2018. The analysis shows that a total of655 records reflected in the database during the preferred study time. The largest number of records found in the year 2014 with 93 (0.455%) publications. The highest rate of EGR found in the year 2014 with rate 0. 455. The negative mean exponential growth rate is found during the study term with the rate-0.0496% since the number of publications is decreasing in all most years. The mean Relative growth rate is 0.24, and the mean doubling time of digital library publications is 4.37 years. The most preferred form of this discipline is Article (63.21%). English is the prominent medium of communications with 89.92% of publications. The top prolific author is Herrera-Viedma, E with 10 (1.53%)publications. The largest number of researches of this discipline has been carried out in Library science and Information Science with 463(70.69%) publications.
