Mobile computing and the wireless web are likely to become the next major business models followi... more Mobile computing and the wireless web are likely to become the next major business models following the era of electronic commerce (e-commerce). In particular, rapid growth and the advancement in mobile technologies indicate that mobile commerce (m-commerce) will be the dominant business model in the future. Businesses and consumers from different fields and sectors are quickly moving towards m-commerce. In developing countries, services in mobile commerce (m-commerce) are in a phase of rapid growth, yet the relevant research is limited. Thus, to increase the adoption of m-commerce among consumers in developing countries such as Jordan, the current study develops a model of consumers' intentions to transfer from traditional (internet-based) e-commerce to m-commerce. The proposed model was empirically validated using a total of 451 paper-based questionnaires that were collected from undergraduate students at three private Jordanian universities. The reliability and validity of the structural model were evaluated by performing exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, while the structural model was assessed by employing the structural equation modelling (SEM) approach. The findings demonstrate that consumers' intention to shift from traditional e-commerce to m-commerce can be explained by factors related to perceived differences in technology and value. The research model offers useful and insightful information to help practitioners and developers focus their efforts in designing and delivering effective m-commerce applications. The model also suggests useful practices for online vendors to promote the use of m-commerce services among consumers. The study’s implications are highlighted and discussed for both the research community and practitioners.
The purpose of this paper is to assess the maturity level of the Jordanian electronic Government ... more The purpose of this paper is to assess the maturity level of the Jordanian electronic Government (e-Government) program from the citizen’s perspective. This assessment aims to help in determining whether the Jordanian e-Government strategy, set back in 2002, has achieved its main objectives which are delivering services to people across society, irrespective of location, economic status, education or ICT ability; improving the ICT readiness and infrastructure; and developing new service delivery channels and increase the involvement of citizens through the use of ICTs. Jordan started a national e-Government initiative aiming to streamline government procedures and provide government information and services to the public online. This paper reveals the levels of citizens’ awareness, acceptance, usage and willingness to use the e-Government services in Jordan. It investigates issues such as Jordan’s e-Government maturity level, citizen’s preferences when dealing with e-Government, citizen’s attitude toward using various e-services, citizen’s concerns and the required services.

Citizens' satisfaction is considered as a prerequisite to e-government adoption, usage and diffusion. This research aims at studying the impact of system quality, information quality, trust, and privacy on Jordanian citizen satisfaction of e-government services. The study shows that all the identified factors in the proposed research model would have an impact on Jordanian citizens' satisfaction with e-government services.

Satisfying a diverse set of customer groups is complex, and requires development of strategic Customer Relationship Management (CRM). This paper contributes to the HEI area, by proposing an approach that scopes CRM strategy, allowing us a better understanding CRM implementation in Higher Education Institutions; maximising alignment of customer and management desires, expectation and needs.

In this paper, we explain how cloud computing can be used to help governments boost their e-government initiatives. The paper evaluates the benefits of adopting cloud computing for e-government in terms of four dimensions; namely: interaction and accessibility, location and distance, time and availability, and products and services. Jordan is a developing country that is declining in the global ranking for e-government development. We present perceptions that will help in determining whether there is a need for adopting cloud computing in the Jordanian e-government, and whether it will help in boosting the e-government development.

This paper presents the results of a study that assessed factors which could influence the awareness level, acceptance and use of e-government services in Jordan. It investigated issues such as: accessibility of e-government, citizen’s attitude toward various privacy and security, the required services and costs. A survey has been distributed in one of the largest governorates of Jordan. The results of this preliminary study suggest that awareness of e-government has not reached the required level. These findings are hoped to be useful for researchers, practitioners and policy makers.
Promoting the learning environment within Jordanian universities and maximizing the students' aca... more Promoting the learning environment within Jordanian universities and maximizing the students' academic gain are essential national-level problems. Since learning and teaching systems are main building bricks to grow individuals who are responsible for developing and flourishing culture and civilization for Jordanian society. Educational data mining focuses on developing new smart algorithms devoted to analyzing the resulted data from educational systems; in order to better understand students and the learning environments. In this paper, we are analyzing major factors affecting university students' performance and the effect of social media usage on them. Furthermore, predicting the students' performance by adopting different rule-based data mining algorithms like rule learner based on Repeated Incremental Pruning to Produce Error Reduction (JRIP) and a type of decision tree called (PART). We have conducted a research survey within the University of Jordan students that is covering all faculties and cover a vast range of different students. Using both JRIP and PART we have concluded fundamental remarks ; mainly, we have noticed that using YouTube as a learning resource has positive impacts on students' performance especially within scientific faculties. Moreover, we have interpreted the impact of other factors, such as having an Internet connection, having several social media applications and others. Certainly, upon our findings, we recommend the importance of integrating YouTube as a learning resource within universities learning environments.

This paper presents the results of a research that aims to identify the main issues and challenges facing these universities in implementing quality assurance system. Data for this research were collected using a survey mailed to all public and private universities to investigate the main issues affecting the implementation of quality assurance system in Jordanian universities. The results of this research showed that the most important challenges faced by Jordanian universities are: human and lack of awareness, resistance to change and cultural among others. The research findings hoped to be useful for both universities and policy makers in the government in order to realize the full benefits of implementing quality assurance system. Hence, this and other research on implementing quality assurance in higher educational institutions might be of assistance.

It is argued that the consideration of TQM can be supported in terms of configuration as an effect of Human Resource Management (HRM) in the presence or absence of other HRM practices. Data for this study were collected from 24 insurance companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange and 342 employees. PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data collected through path analysis. Structural equation modeling was used to examine a causal relationship between the variables. The overall effect of HRM on TQM was explored to improve quality orientation and people criteria in insurance companies. The findings have indicated a significant and positive effect of teamwork, staffing, performance appraisals, and compensation on TQM. However, training and development have a negative, but significant impact on TQM. In addition, TQM significantly and positively affects the HRM of an organization. Performance was also positively and significantly affected by HRM. TQM is an important factor of HRM in insurance companies.

The increase of business due to E-commerce is very encouraging and will be the mainstay of the global economy for many years to come. Nevertheless, the darker side of e-commerce exists. New breed of threats not seen in traditional form of commerce have come to existence. Nevertheless, it is always useful or vital for one to be armed with knowledge (especially with regards to the law) about safety and security issues in electronic commerce in order to ensure that doing business in the internet is a fruitful endeavor to ensure economic success
This research explores the important factors influencing attitudes towards social networking ads ... more This research explores the important factors influencing attitudes towards social networking ads particularly as users of social networking still have negative attitudes towards advertising on social networking sites. The model developed suggested that advertising attitudes to online social networking can be based on variables of reputation, interactivity, group comparison, and respect for privacy. The findings of this research indicate that the four variables of interactivity influence attitudes to ads on social networking. Other considerations such as reputation, community of comparison and issues of privacy do not affect attitudes to ads on social media. Customers instead have concerns about the legitimacy of social networking advertising. This suggests that while it's recent, ads' low credibility hasn't shifted significantly across various outlets. Results also show that there is no strong correlation in online social networking between comparison groups and advertising attitudes, and no substantial connection in online social networking between privacy concerns and advertising attitudes.
